The $50k fine for Hartley was a joke - the guy did nothing wrong. I don't know what the hell the NHL league office was thinking. Oooh Hartley put his goon Matt Stajan out there for the last minute - let's fine him.

Desjardins shouldn't be fined either - nothing egregious by either coach - the NHL needs to back off.

Canucks are a joke for trying so hard to get a high sticking call for Richardson taking auck to the face.
All of the Canuck players have to be special little snowflakes that get powerplays for everything.

Richardson cried so hard he even got Henrik to politely ask the referee for a penalty for getting his face in the way of the puck and then look away in disgust when they didnt get their preferential treatment.

Riichardson should just count himself lucky that he wasnt in front of Brodie's slapper....that would have ended him.

The NHL has no credibility in the way it dishes out fines and suspensions.

I don't think Desjardins deserves anything, but neither did Hartley. That fine is still a complete headscratcher to me.

The NHL is just so confused about the fighting issue right now (amongst other things like hits to the head, that's another story). You can fight, but only so much. You can't start 4th line players because it looks like you intended to "goon" it up. You can get an instigator penalty but we might rescind it.

Honestly WTF is going on with this stuff. I don't think the league has a clue.

Just let them play. Other than the Hamhuis hit to Bennett's head I don't have a major issue with anything that's happened. Its hockey, its the playoffs, and its 2 rivals. Let em play.

They said on Sportsnet this was Hartleys 5th (or 6th?) fine related to this sort of thing.

If Willie gets fined it will be less I imagine.

No.

Just because the NHL did something stupid in fining Hartley, doesn't mean I want them to double down on the stupid and fine the other guy.

Two stupids doesn't make a smart.

(The on-ice officiating, however, needs to be changed. This has been unacceptable.)

For what it's worth, if the Burrows instigator remains, even though the one-game suspension is rescinded, I think Desjardins still gets the (automatic) $10k fine.
