I think that Raymond has enormous potential and he has had some great moments this season. Personally, I don't like threads like these because I feel like we're talking bad about one of our team members- who is a kid with family and friends who read the boards, but more importantly, he's still a Flame. And he didn't have the greatest season but he did get 23 points for the good guys.
I think we should try to be positive just for synergy and morale especially during the playoffs, but I get it's a hockey forum and these types of discussions are obviously going to happen.
Not trying to start an argument, just stating my opinion.

I hear you. Nobody could've predicted would happen this season. It looks like we desperately needed Raymond just to fill out what would look like a borderline NHL roster. I know he was excited to sign here being a local guy and all that, but things just haven't worked out. Nothing personal, business is just business and he appears to have been passed by many players.
Seems like a good guy though and I'm sure he's working hard in practice and contributing whatever he can.

Time for Raymond to show what he's got. He seems better when he comes back from pressbox.

If you don't want to discuss it, that's fine, please don't. But don't tell the rest of us we are wrong for wanting to.

But you are wrong. They do need his services as evidenced tonight.

Glad he got an assist, but he is soft as butter out there. His 'attempted' hip check in the Canucks zone.. yikes

Yes, but Granlund hadn't done much, and Flames aren't that deep. Clearly a great call putting Raymond back in.
Ridiculously premature thread.

In the middle of a rocky road full of potholes is not the time to be chucking our your spare tires...
I suspect Brad will be evaluating in the off-season or even packaging players for moves during the draft.
His trade value is very low however. We don't need to buy anybody out because we are so far from the cap.

The thread is to discuss if they need him next season...my problem with some commenters is that they refused to accept it as a point of discussion.
I am fine with those that say we do need him...just don't tell me we can't even discuss it.

It is a fair criticism to say that the timing of the thread is poor. It is a long off-season with tons of time for these debates. In the middle of a first round playoff series? Poor timing.
So don't be surprised or pissy when people say that.

Thought he played decent tonight. He's still too weak and loses a lot of battles tho but I guess that's not his style of play. Hope he manages to get a goal for his confidence and go on a hot streak
