Bit confusing how they've pulled that off.

Anyhow, if it means they can rest Russell, Monahan, Gaudreau and Hudler and anyone else, I'm all for it.

Also, since these are emergency recalls, they are going to be tied to specific players at the NHL roster who are hurt, so it will be interesting to see who sits, because these guys are the ones who will be dealing with nagging injuries.

I hope they play. I would love to see how Ramage has developed this year. I've always had some hope for him to get a full time job up with the Flames.

Is that the only requirement to constitute an emergency recall? That they have to play?

My bet is Backlund has been playing at quite a bit less than 100% health wise.

Good point about Morrison, I had forgotten that.
But Wolf & Poirier have also got their NHL games...so I don't quite see how that matters when discussing Arnold & Agostino?

Anyway, exciting to see the young pups in action.

Since blind lineup guessing is fun...

Gaudreau-Monahan-Poirier (get Johnny his 25th goal of the season)
Wolf-Bennett-Colborne
Raymond-Granlund-Jones
Ferland-Stajan-Shore

Wotherspoon-Engelland
Schlemko-Ramage
Kulak-Engelland
Schlemko-Wotherspoon
Kulak-Potter

Not discounting that there are nagging injuries to various guys, but I think the ailment that is spreading across the room is "wink and a smile" syndrome.

That time of year I guess.
No doubt about it.

It looked like the Kings were targeting Hudler and Russel in particular last night with behind the play attacks.

Brad Treliving when asked about the four recall rule heading into the last game of the season...

Will be a fun but strange game tomorrow, an almost freebie training camp game wedged between the Kings game yesterday and the start of the playoffs later in the week.

Should be fun, hope Bennett and Poirier line up together.

The requirements as defined by the CBA:

Quote:
Emergency Recall.
(i) A Player on Loan to a club of any league affiliated with the League may
be Recalled from such Loan under emergency conditions at any time for
the duration of the emergency only following which he must be returned
promptly to the club from which he was Recalled.

(ii) Emergency conditions shall be established when the playing strength of
the Loaning Club, by reason of incapacitating injury or illness or by
League suspension to its Players is reduced below the level of two (2)
goalkeepers, six (6) defensemen and twelve (12) forwards. Proof of the
existence of the emergency conditions including the incapacity shall be
furnished to the Commissioner of the League upon request made by him.
So by the above definition any player recalled on emergency recall has to play as they have been recalled to maintain a 20 man roster.

You cannot recall someone on an emergency basis and have them healthy scratched

I’m guessing these #Flames recalls can’t happen for a few days.

So after the last game of the season?

And do they have to return them to Addy as soon as the injured players are re-activated?
Or can they keep them up for playoffs? (Not that they'd necessarily want to...just wondering)

If you want to start John Ramage and Emile Poirier over TJ Brodie and Jiri Hudler, you can very much keep them up for playoffs.

I don't think there are roster limits in playoffs. Most teams have about 10 guys sitting in the pressbox as black aces.

As long as Adirondack's season is still on-going they have to be sent back down.
