I will be watching the game first thing in the morning when I arrive at work on Friday, and with my jersey on.
...Unfortunately, I have to attend a meeting @ 1015, which likely means that I will be stopping midway—probably between the second and third period. It's a painful image that I construct under these circumstances of my performance in said meeting. Luckily for me, it is almost impossible to fire an academic in Norway. Otherwise, the rest of the day might have consisted of cleaning out my desk, and booking passage back home to Canada.
GFG.
Haha, I think the same can be said anywhere!
PS I've spent some time in Norway, in Bergen. I've never gotten into so many drinking competitions in my life.

Every time someone in the studio or the PBP team says something like "Flames have a such and such record when x player scores" or "Flames just need a win to clinch a spot" or something along those lines, everyone needs to knock on wood 3 times.
Well it was mostly on student nights in the campus bar, so it wasn't too bad. Only as expensive as the most expensive bar in Calgary
Is drinking in Norway expensive?
I have an arbitrary list of countries that I just LOVE. Well, maybe it's not that arbitrary, since I am very much interested in their respective cultures, and therefore I plan on visiting. Iceland, Norway, Germany & Japan.
I may rethink Norway if drinking is cost prohibitive haha.

Not just drinking. Everything is ridiculously expensive. But that was 5 years ago, I'm sure Textcritic could attest to prices now.
The last time I stayed up to watch the game was the St Louis game so I wont be doing that. The last time I tried to wake up and watch the game (3am) was the Edmonton game when I promptly turned the alarm off so I will try and do that.
Hopefully I will need to have a celebratory 7am drink on Friday when I get up for work!

I have recently liberated myself from pre-game ritual. I know it does not have any impact. With young kids it is impossible to have a ritual for the games.

I worked there for 10 years and it's expensive there to drink and live

I beg to differ!
Here's mine, Watch the first 20 mins of the game live while my wife gives the little monsters a bath. Then pause the game on game center, read the baby some books while phone is close by and check JUST the score of the opponent. (if they have 0 or 1, i'm feeling pretty good) Then put the baby down.
Wife then wants to have dinner so I have the phone on seat next to me and every 20 mins or so, check the score JUST of the opponent. (if they have 0 or 1, i'm feeling pretty good)
Then after dinner resume game center, usually like an hour behind, and I don't have to stress about what the other team will score, I keep my excitement for how the flames will do and still get totally pumped when they score.
Warped? Yes but has been working lately and let's me also give time to the wife and kids

How do you manage to check the score of just the opposing team?

There was a nucks fan yesterday here wishing for the Kings to win and the Flames to lose because he wanted no part of a Flames playoff series with Van. There's some sentiment around here in Victoria resembling the same thing. I for one welcome said playoff series with Vancouver.
So please win tomorrow night Calgary. Pretty pretty please.

I load up the NHL game center app, then cover the phone with my hand and slowly move my hand over the logo of the opponent until it gets to their score, then i stop there and close the app. Yes, I know I'm skilled
