I'll probably watch this one. I think many Calgarians feel sympathetic to the Sens and Ottawa as they're very much like the "Calgary" in the East That and they're probably the only other Canadian team that isn't insufferable or has a fanbase that is insufferable.

Edm gets Pitt's first pick though, so kinda hoping the Pens make it, but kinda not also.

An Oiler-fan buddy owes me a bottle of scotch for the Flames/Oilers season. I just told him we're even if the Oilers win tonight.
(oh well, at least I will enjoy the scotch)

The fear is that if the Pens miss, and their pick wins the lottery, Edm picks 1st and 3rd. Which isn't cool.

A lot of similarities between the two clubs. They've got an even better youth movement than we do this season and have continued to push through with the same under-dog label.

I agree, always been my favorite eastern Canadian team, especially that they seem like the calgary of the west. (Vancouver = Montreal, Toronto = Edmonton)

Don't think the Sens will survive losing to the Leafs twice down the stretch but it will be an interesting game to be sure

In Edmonton, Kings win 9-3. Quick with shutout until last 3 minutes when Hall, Yakupov and RNH all score (plus assists) to remind us they are building something special. Bachman lets in 9 goals on 96 shots, so his save percentage is actually quite reasonable. Sutter concerned about the amount of energy his players used raising their arms nine times in a game.
Jets win 1-0 in St. Louis. Pavelec makes 49 saves in shutout victory. Jets get only 11 shots but first shot of the game goes in and its all they need.
And in Chicago, Dubnyk stops 35 shots for Minnesota shutout victory. 0-0 until last minute. Hossa measured for illegal stick and Parise with powerplay goal at 19:57. Minnesota goes 1 for 13 on the powerplay. Chicago 0 for 1.

i don't have much hope for the oilers, the last time they faced the kings, they gave up a touchdown + 2 point conversion in goals.
boy would it be the OOT miracle we need though!

I will not make fun of the Edmonton Oilers in any capacity for the rest of 2015 if they beat LA in regulation tonight.

There isn't even any point in praying for the Oilers to win tonight. It's physically impossible. They are such disgraceful, low lying garbage, they couldn't win this game if every one of their lives depended on it. Literally, like if the consequence was the death penalty, they would still lose, every time, by a wide margin.
I hope the Kings win 57-0, and are so tired from taking so many shots, that they can't score another goal in their next two games. That's more realistic than Edmonton helping us out tonight by winning.

Oh and Yakupov suffers concussion when he loses his footing during a centre ice celebration on the 9-3 goal. Hits head on the ice after stumbling on discarded jersey from a fan in the owners' box (Katz' son has had enough)

^^^ You just might be on to something. Maybe the Kings will get so cocky from winning with a double digit goal differential that the Flames can put their game against them away before they come down to Earth.

Taylor Hall has a beautiful face. You can do it buddy. Today is the day that you use your teammates and not give up the puck at your own blue line.
