Putin came from nowhere. He must leave nowhere. Good riddance, if so. We can only wish it's gonna be that easy though...

Russians are not THAT spontaneously riotous. They need good organization and strong provocation to take it out to the streets.

Rioting and the sort is also usually met with forceful, violent and quick government response. Unless you can pull of a revolution of some sort, I wouldn't try it.
Btw, I have trouble seeing the worry over the possible end of Putins regime. He was a terrible economic leader who started several wars and in general turned out to be be the worst thing that has happened to global diplomatic stability in decades.
If he was ousted from power, I'm guessing one reason was because of fears he'd drive Russia into an unwinnable shooting war with the west. or something equally stupid and disastrous.
Yes, his successor COULD be worse, but it's not very likely.
(As for Russian economy, the drop in oil prices really only reveal how badly run the whole country has been. They're an "industrialized" country that has no industrial products anybody wants to buy, even their own citizens. They have huge agricultural potential, but they have to import huge amounts of food because the agricultural industry is STILL largely stuck in Soviet times. Their natural resources are largely untapped, educated population is leaving the country in droves... It's a mess.)

"The Ides of March" is one my all-time favourite books that I can spontaneously read at any time from any spot. Please do not associate it with Putin.

I always worry about coups when it comes to nuclear nations, especially a major nuclear power that has nearly 2000 strategic weapons and 2000 tactical weapons.
Especially Russia, especially if Putin is deposed and we have a fractured leadership status.

Has there ever been a coup in a nuclear country before? There was the attempted coup in Russia before...
