I would guess he gets waived to Stockton....I wish it would by Raymond and Bollig instead, but we all know that won't happen.

^I could see Raymond getting a month or two to show something then getting waived

I agree with you about Jooris. His offensive production tailed off after his wrist injury. Now that he's had it surgically repaired, I think he can definitely take another step this season.

Normally I would agree with that, but the Flames have too many waiver eligible young players.
If a guy like Shore shows more then Raymond at camp then I am inclined to think Raymond hits waivers, then goes to Stockton.

Byron has been put on waivers before and cleared
The current management team also didn't give him a qualifying offer a year ago which exposed him to every team in the league.
Byron is a good player and all but at his age he isn't the type of player teams covet

The thing with Shore is that if he hits waivers, he will get claimed. The Flames are either going to have to trade Shore for something like a 4th round pick like the Leafs with Colborne when we got him, or we will have to waive Raymond.
All things being equal, I'd rather do the latter and see if anyone is interested in Raymond even if the Flames have to eat half.

Shore could be a good replacement for David Jones on the right side, longer term. As I don't see Jones being here after this season, there may be some consideration towards keeping a younger, right-handed forward with some size and speed around.

There really is no way Drew Shore should sit if Raymond is in the lineup.
Drew Shore brings much more to the table and I hope he takes Raymonds spot.

I'm sure most of us would agree there are several prospects that we would rather have on the roster instead of Raymond.
Unfortunately, his trade value is probably negative, due to his lack of production and $3.15M salary.
That, and very few trades get made early in the season.
Demoting Raymond to the AHL would only save $950k on the Cap, and Shore would eat up $850k of it. So, only a $100k savings in Cap, but an extra $850k in salary.
My guess is that they keep Raymond, play him at LW on the 2nd line, and hope he has enough success to become trade-able.
The team usually carries 14 forwards, Granlund is waiver exempt, so Bollig and one of Byron or Shore will be be the extras. The other will have to clear waivers.
It's definitely a tough situation for Trevling.

I wonder if the Canucks would be interested in bringing back Raymond? He had success there, and their wing situation isn't great, especially with Higgins going down indefinitely with a broken foot.
They showed the Flames arriving at Rogers Arena tonight when the Nucks were warming up playing soccer, and Raymond was shaking hands with the Sedins as he walked by.

I honestly believe with Earned, not given, Raymond is not going to be here long.

Flames management and coaching staff consider Byron and bouma their two best penalty killing forwards. Current as of the past playoffs. I'd be surprised if Byron gets waived or moved.

Byron didn't get qualified last year because he'd be an RFA and, as an RFA, he'd be arbitration eligible. They thought they'd get killed at arb, so they didn't qualify him and instead negotiated with him as a UFA.

Shore started the pre-season looking good. The further preseason went on the worse he looked. Don't think he played well enough to take a spot on the roster. Actually i don't think he played well enough to be picked up on waivers.

I don't see it either. I like the idea of him but has he executed? I think he would benefit from playing in the AHL but I bet we lose him on waivers.

Treliving should have a good idea on whether he'll be claimed based on what other teams may have offered in exchange for Shore. Dude does his homework.
