The Canucks announcers were yapping about how Allen never had control of the puck when the whistle blew and knocked it into his net. Canucks or not that's bull####. If the whistle blows before the puck is in it should be no goal.

I didn't see the goal you guys are talking about, but they didn't change the rule about whistle or intent to whistle as far as I know.

They changed the rules to allow things like that to be overturned if it was obviously going to be a good goal:

Quote:
* Rule 38.4 (viii) has been modified to allow broader discretion to Hockey Operations to assist the referees in determining the legitimacy of all potential goals (e.g., to ensure they are "good hockey goals"). The revised Rule will allow Hockey Operations to correct a broader array of situations where video review clearly establishes that a "goal" or "no goal" call on the ice has been made in error. The new expanded rule will also allow Hockey Operations to provide guidance to referees on goal and potential goal plays where the referee has blown his whistle (or intended to blow his whistle) after having lost sight of the puck.

5-2 VAN now in the third.

How are they doing this??? They keep crushing all the elite teams and then lose to the crappy ones, and with half their starting D out too.

Am I the only one that starts to feel queasy when they go to that new overhead camera angle?

Talbot, Halak, and now Allen weren't exactly stellar against them so that helps.

Blues tie it!!!!

Score 3 straight! Backes just shrugged Vey away and goes to the crease and jams it in.

Nuclear meltdown by the Canucks all started by the power play goal from Jaskin. Goalie interference on Elliot and that is why Allen is in net again after being pulled in the second intermission. Lindbohm with the fourth goal and then Backes ties soon after. Great game tied 5-5.

Elliot apparently went straight to the room after getting pulled but came back out to say a few words to Hitchcock

good job for the Canucks managing their losses

3 goal cushion was just enough to make sure the single point is gotten
