Chicago has enough weapons to cover the loss of Kane by committee. Toews, Sharp, Hossa, Saad, Versteeg, Richards etc.

It may cost them position but even without Kane this is a very dangerous team. They can limp into the playoffs without him and beat the Blues in 5 even without Kane.

Bring up Teravainen and see how he does centering the second line.

Could be a blessing in disguise.

Edit: losing kane sucks but it's not the end of the world for chicago.

Huge blow for the Hawks. Without Kane they go from elite to above-average, and I don't see them making it past the 2nd round.

Yeah it's fanciful to suggest that the Hawks will be even more likely to add and offer a premium for UFA rentals after this and that Glencross in any way shores up what was lost by Kane.

If anything this will make Chicago LESS likely to sacrifice any good assets and engage in the trade deadline market. They're season took a massive blow as they've lost their Art Ross candidate and offensive funnel. If I'm Bowman I accept to just throw the dice on this year and load up for next year.

You gotta know when to hold em and know when to fold em.

No Chicago is really screwed. I saw a post on HF saying sharp has 3 ES goals all season, Hossa is on 23 goal pace and as well is toews with 60 point season. Kane is the driving force for them this year, it's a huge blow and they could be out of first round easily.

Kane is a huge part of that team for sure but if there is one guy in the entire league that I'd want on my team when the game is on the line it's Toews. In virtually the same number of playoff games played Toews has more PPG and more GWG than Kane. Other players will have to step up but they have the tools to still be successful.

They are going to have to unload guys next year for cap reasons. There won't be much loading up for next year.

Even more reason to not shed cheap future assets. Their best player is done for the season, I highly doubt they'll be big deadline players unless they start selling.

Are the Hawks imploding? Reports of a fist fight in the locker room

David Diehl @davediehl66
First Kane out 12 weeks and now a divided team after fist fight in the #Blackhawks locker room. There are locker room codes you do not cross

The guy reporting it is a FOX NFL Analyst, so take with a grain of salt

They are probably arguing about who misses Brandon Bollig the most.

Kane accounts for 1/3 of all Chicago's goals.

The rest of these guys been holding back?

No but that means that someone else gets more pp time, time with quality line mates and more looks with the puck. No one will make it all up, but it doesn't remove 1/3 of their offence either

Here's some more info on the Hawks locker room. Don't know how much substance there is to anything but the suggestion in the article is that there is some smoke and some fire: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-pu...195228660.html

If true, that means there's multiple unfaithful people connected to the incident, not just one. The timing of this couldn't be worse for that locker room.
