I do worry about Rämö being really cold when he finally gets a start, but if they think Hiller gives them a better chance, they have to go with him at this point in the season. Not sure if Hiller is ideally a workhorse starter but here we are.

Every game will be crucial from here on out. He showed earlier this year he can play crucial games and perform in them. Hiller hasn't done anything more then Ramo to deserve the #1 role. It was play till you lose before, for whatever reason that just changed. That's what I don't agree with.

Ramo hasn't played a full game for about 2 months - it is a big risk to throw him in now.

He's been practising and played a period last game. If thats the reason then he needs to be outright released cause he should never see another minute.
Now I'm not comparing him to Rinne, but Preds didn't say "well he's been out a month so we can't give the goal back to him and we'll keep riding our backup."

Same guy who guy got benched for a rookie last year? I guess he has done it, if done means NOT getting the job done.
Ramo was quite stellar in the KHL as well in terms of HAVING DONE IT BEFORE.

because the KHL=NHL oh wait
Hiller has been stellar since the all star break...unfair would be taking him out because of that one game.

But Ramo was never really the #1 anyways.
Another thing to keep in mind is what happens in practice, and there have been reports, including from Derek Wills, that Ramo has not been sharp in practice.

Oh you mean like Ramo was removed when he lost a game after his streak? Which included couple shutouts and he lost a close game yet Hiller was back in.
Not to mention you dismiss the fact Hiller was benched for a rookie just last playoffs after you decided to shout that Hiller has done it before but pick and choose the KHL argument? Nice one.

Neither was Hiller though. It was you play till you lose. This is the first I'm hearing about Wills comments but I don't read everything that gets posted so might've missed that.
I've got nothing against Hiller but imo Ramo is the better goalie. Contrary to what dino7c shouted, Hiller has never done it before and neither has Ramo. But Hiller has proven to fail when needed in the past years, which Ramo hasn't since he hasn't had that opportunity.
Neither were ever declared #1s, heck Hiller was riding the bench just before the AS game when a rookie took the reigns and that rookie was also demoted as soon as he lost a game. The Always Earned Never Given not being applied here.

I think they are talking about the Ramo who was very shaky and yanked in two games not long before the Ortio callup.

Sorry Chief, but this IMO Hiller has outplayed Ramo. The only time Ramo looked better was right at the beginning of the year, when Hiller had 2 mediocre games and Ramo came on strong starting against the Oilers.
The Ramo's play declined and Hiller had a really good stretch. When Hiller faltered a bit Ramo got some starts but didn't look good. Like in Florida. Hiller's subsequent starts were pretty good, even in the losing streak. He's only had one stinker IMO (again against Florida), and after Ortio's stint Hiller was very very good. The stats back this up. Save % and GAA are both better than Ramo.
Hiller's game is a lot calmer, and less scrambly, which makes him more consistent, though maybe less flashy. Ortio is similar.
My concern with not playing Ramo is that it undermines his trade value, but that's not really Hartley's concern.

I am also slightly disappointed that Ramo isn't playing. But 'Artley must think Hiller gives us a better chance to win and is going for two points

Wolf is good to go.
Aaron Vickers @AAVickers
Hartley updated Wolf's status this morning: “Big bad? He’s doing great...He’s healed right now so we could use him if we would need him.”

Good game for Hiller. Need the wins, in the end I don't care who starts as long as we get the 2 points.
