Sportsnet Edmonton hockey that matters....whateverrrrrrr!

Can't have this thread without mentioning McCains, it's the law!
That one where some current advertisement actor is playing himself older, then sits next to the younger version of himself. uggghh. Still smarting from their fiddle juice one.
That Tena advert for incontinence where they shape the tena pads into the petals on a flower! Ya, just don't try to beautify that subject!

Yep, McCains is the worst. Even worse than Subway's and Wendy's's garbage. Although McCains old commercial of Roberto Alomar holding up the fruit punch and saying "catch da taste!" is a classic.

The worst commercial on the air at the moment has got to be for Vonage - with those ultra-annoying cartoon heads that keep alternating from big to small - "To VOIP or not to VOIP"........AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh gawd, ya those are brutal... :doo:

The one that really annoys me is the Mr Sub one where the two guys go in, ask if they have toasted buns, then when the guy says yes one of them screams "Must hurt!" and laugh for the rest of the time......BAH! almost as bad a Jared

Radio commercials bug me more than TV for some reason. Do any of you recall Tower Chrysler's radio ad campaign with the father and kid? I wanted to murder that stupid kid. Actually, it sounded like a 40 year old man imitating a kid..." acwoss fwom sowphcenter"

Then there was the 'jack go to rogers WIRELESS" commercial.

I can't stand the tv commercial where she asks him to hold on to the chocolate bar, then comes right back in & demands the bar. She ends up on top of him screaming 'give it to me' fata. Can't these companies sell chocolate bars during primetime without using sex?

Ithought they had take it off the air but I saw it last night:

The Dr. Scholl's gellin' commercial. I hate this stupid crap and was glad when I was sure they took it off.

Are you gell'in' Ellen? Gellin' like Magellen.

Screw off you idiots!!!

When I was in University I met a gal who gave me the lowdown on why those commercials are so bad. Apparently McCains uses the same ads for both French or English so that, except for the voice-over, they don't have to change anything. This was in the early nineties, but it still hold pretty true today. The only talking by actors is if it is a celebrity, and even then it is usually just a quick tagline at the end that I'm sure they could get in both languages in just a couple of takes.

That Tropicana Twister commercial is by far the worst. It angers me!!!

Same with that KFC snacker commercial with those two drugged up drop outs talking and one gets egg on his head, by a flying chicken... THE WORST EVER!

I can't believe no one has mentioned the Alexander Keith's commercials. Those have to be absolute most annoying commercials I have ever seen. I think the only person who hates them more than I do is my girlfriend, who will actually start watching a new show if she sees the commercial so she doesn't have to deal with hearing it again on the next commercial break.

I like the beer... but enough with the commercials!

I used to feel that way, until I tried Tropicana Twister.

I now refer to it as my "crack juice." (as in crack coccaine.) The stuff is super high in sugar; it wouldn't suprise me that aftter drinking some you'd be seeing leprechauns.

It's also highly addictive.

I also really hate those salad dressing adverts where they use vegetables to create an environment or scene and then the dressing is in it. Like a bunch of salad that looks like a surfing scene and then the dressing is the wave!
It's totally unappetising.

Mother fata!

They re-dubbed that stupid "I went running" commercial AGAIN. It just keeps getting worse and worse.

"Did you go running?"
"I WENT RUNNING!"
"But it's dry and doesn't even smell bad!"

:crap:

LOL. I was just about to post the exact same thing red!

Why in the freaking hell would you even redub a commercial? What's the point?

Along the same lines, and thank god this is now history, but Page Direct's radio commercial from like the mid 80s to the early 2000s that NEVER BLOODY CHANGED IN 20 YEARS used to drive me up the wall. They even changed their name to PDL and still didnt change the commercial.

Schendier's commercials, pretending that JM Schnider's green and grey lost tapes from circa 1912 have been magically recovered and restored, and, just as concidentally, speaks in terms and sentences like one would in 2005, not 1912.

I'm getting really, really, really sick of that Future Shop ad with the escalator. Not because it's not stupid funny in a "Home Improvement" sorta way... BUT BECAUSE IT'S ON EVERY CHANNEL EVERY TWO MINUTES!! UGH!!

As for McCains, you gotta love 'em. Remember them Pizza Pocket commercials?

I've slowly started to regain my sanity since getting the PVR. I record everything and fast-forward through the commercials. And sporting events, I pause at the beginning, go surf the net for an hour, and I catch up the hour by the end of the game.
