#Flames lines stay the same as they've been the last few games. Baertschi place holding for Backlund at skate.
Wes Gilbertson @SUNGilbertson
As long as #Flames C Mikael Backlund (illness) is good to go, looks like locals will stick with same lineup tonight against Jets.
Hmmm - what illness is going through the dressing room? It's not the mumps or Hudler wouldn't be skating yet.
If Backlund can't go, not sure how they work the C position. Presumably Jooris moves up one line and maybe Colborne takes the 3C? Then you add Sven or Wolf?
Assumedly Baertschi would go in as Wolf isn't at the skate right? He's still got that cut on his leg they might be worried about.
The problem is that Colborne plays RW. I've heard Sven has never done well in that spot, so either they would switch another winger from the left or stick Wolf in (he was playing RW Saturday I think).
Calgary Flames @NHLFlames
"It's Christmas morning for Sammy." - Hartley on Bennett skating with the team. Hartley cautioned there is no timeline on his return.
Wolf nor Baertchi will be in the game. Hudler is back.
The issue is what happens if Backlund is out. No other regular centres are in Calgary so either Colborne or maybe Byron or Bouma have to play a centre spot, which opens up a winger spot.

The flu.
There's one strain that wasn't protected by the flu shot this year and it seems to be hitting alot of people and makes you feel like hell for a good 5 days.

It won't happen because of how well Bouma has played as of late, but I would move Stajan up to the 2 or 3C and have Byron or Bouma center the 4th line.
Big implications tonight. A win brings the Flames within a point of the jets, reeling them back into the bottom herd of wildcard teams. A win widens the gap from the teams chasing CGY.
Must Win? No, but its darned close to a must win game.

A flames win puts them 2 points up of Vancouver and into the 3rd divisional spot and within 1 point of Winnipeg.

Big two weeks. But of course the most likely results is "win some lose some" and everything staying tight until the end
