I'm all for kicking, "motion or not" as long as it is outside of the crease because I don't think a kick is a first instinct. It's secondary generally when a stick is tied up.

This gives goalies enough time to react.
This reduces dangerous kicks at the goalie. (Arguable.)
Slightly less confusing interpretation of the rule. (Building on an older rule on scoring in creases)
Makes me feel a little better about 2004.

Unsure if changing crease size is necessary. (I don't think it is, but adding an inch might help point 1 above)
Hope this change might reduce players in the crease as well?


No to gloving it in. Same reason for hand pass.

I'm choosing option #3. But don't agree with off the skate in a crease kicking or not.
