This site has taken over as the first website I check each day, for quite some time now.
I heart this site.

Thank you to everyone who puts effort into this site! Congratulations on maintaining a high standard for many, many years.
I've always been a huge Flames fan, and found out about this site many years ago, via word of mouth while I was a fellow employee to one of the moderators. I had never heard of it. It's somewhat comical that I learned of a website in face to face conversation....

I probably wouldn't be doing what I'm doing now if it weren't for CP.

Great post and everything but didn't the capgeek guy get really sick? I'm sure he'd still be running one of the most influential sites in the game if he was able to.

I've been very fortunate to have been involved with the CP community all these years. If there is anything you need to know, hockey related or otherwise, all you need to do is check out CP. It's my favorite site on the Internet.

Admittedly, the only names I recognize on Calgary puck that I knew from alt.sports.flames.whatever is Buff and Jay Random.

Loved the old USENET site. I remember Buff (or was it Biff?) trying hard to get people over to CalgaryPuck. I took a quick look at CP and dismissed it cause it was web based. Didn't anyone know that CLI was the only way to communicate?
Out of the main contributors from Usenet, the only one I have never heard from again was Nelson Lau. Maybe he's still here with a totally different username.

I've been wasting time at work on one form of CP or another since '99.

It wasn't me. I was fighting to keep Usenet alive. At least initially. One the 2004 playoffs were rolling and there was practically nobody posting on Usenet but the traffic on CP was huge in comparison I finally decided to make the jump. Maybe during/after the lockout I tried to get a few people to join but initially I fought tooth and nail to keep the Usenet group alive.
In hindsight, I like web based forums way better. I just didn't want to change. Moderation was a big drawback to me at the time, but now I appreciate it, even if I don't agree with all the decisions. It doesn't really affect me anyway so I just keep reading and move on.

Happy bday CP!
Crapping my pants now because I googled some mid-late 1990s usenet archives. There I am, posting under my real name and freely throwing around my old (and long dead) @ucalgary email address. I am horrified at the moment; did not foresee the doxxing era we are in.

Congrats Bingo!
Time flies, I recall discovering the site through a personal friend of Bingo's while at work back in the days we were getting ready for Y2K, lol. My productivity has never been the same. ;-)
Definitely a site that has become ingrained in my daily habits. First site I check virtually every day for Flames and other news. I dont post near as much as I used to, but the site still holds the same importance to me and has added greatly to my experience.
Here is to 15+ more years.
