I said none but I would take Bouwmeester back for free. I loved Cammy but there is no room for another small skilled forward on this team.
I love Iggy but he needed to go in order to move on fresh.

Getting the end result of Poirier, Smith, and Cundari just for him was an excellent return. I wouldn't go back on that deal at all.

I agree with you about not going back on the Bouwmeester deal. Having said that, it's easy to look at our current roster, identify the weakness of our bottom three defencemen, and think that Bouwmeester could improve that position. Not so much love for Bouwmeester IMO as identifying the area most in need of improvement on the current roster.
But yeah, even taking Cundari out of the mix I'd mush rather have Poirier and Smith moving forward.

Olli never quite clicked with the Iginla Flames, but not for lack of effort. Obviously could not have number 13, but I'd like to see how he'd fit now.
That said we have enough young forwards I'm not sure I'd want him either.

I'm honestly impressed with how few votes Iginla has received.
I think after all these years we finally get it, it's nice to see.
edit: not a knock on Iginla by any means. just a comment on the intelligence of our fanbase.

Yeah I would easily take back Regehr if it meant not having one of Smid or Engelland.

Is that the same Bouwmeester that played 361 games for the Flames, had 18 goals, 79 assists for 97 points and was a minus 38? He made 26.8 million dollars for that. A 6.680 cap hit per year.
I mean his Flames career best season was 82 GP, 5 G, 24 A, 29 pts, -21. This year Brodie has 43 GP, 8 G, 20 A, 28 Pts, +18. Brodie has already beat his best goal output, one more point and Brodie has eclipsed the best season Bouwmeester ever had in a Flames jersey.
His points this year?
J-Bo: 34 GP, 2 G, 4 A, 6 Pts, +2, 23 Hits, 48 blocked shots.
Giordano: 43 GP, 10 G, 26 A, 36 Pts, +16, 44 hits, 89 blocked shots.
Brodie: 43 GP, 8 G, 20 A, 28 Pts, +18, 14 hits, 90 blocked shots.
Wideman: 42 GP, 10 G, 13 A, 23 Pts, -3, 53 hits, 102 blocked shots.
Russell: 41 GP, 0 G, 16 A, 16 Pts, +4, 30 hits, 133 blocked shots.
To me, Bouwmeester is overrated and underwhelming to say the least.

Out of the list, Stempniak. I always liked him. Out of any ex Flames, I'd love to see Regehr back. He'd be an upgrade on the bottom pairing for sure.

We're not deep at all on RW. Iginla would obviously be a huge improvement to our club right now. To say anyone that voted Iginla is unintelligent doesn't make any sense. Especially considering the return we got for him.

if it meant instead of the people we got for them then none but if you mean could have them on this current roster then Bouw for sure...would be amazing in that D grouping.

I used to find Bouwmeester took days off when he was here.... To be fair to him though, a lot of players did, including Iginla.
I really wouldn't take any of them. I do feel however that now that the team has a new identity, Iginla could be worked back into the fold in a couple of years so he could retire as a Flame while still helping out. He wouldn't ever be Captain again but in a couple more years when we're actually a contender, I would still love to see him hoist a Cup in a Flames jersey.

Would love to have iggy come back. If the flames took a major step next year and became a team who was very comfortably in a playoff spot by the trade deadline... I would welcome a trade to bring iggy home. I think when this team becomes a contender he could fill a great role... Similar to that of Recchi when boston won the cup. A great depth scorer and leader who fit into the powerplay and brought grit as well. Plus it would be one of the greatest moments in hockey history to see giordano hand the cup over to iginla in front of the home crowd.

I agree with this, and I have to add that I'd take him over Wideman, but that's it. The fact that he would only be a #4 on this team does not say much for him. We are a rebuilding team and the defense is decent, but not great by any means.
Also, despite the fact that Bouwmeester's offense production has slipped this year, the fact that he is only +2 on a team that has a +31 goal differential is criminal. Vastly overrated player. I'd be shocked if he was ever on a team that made a significant playoff run.

I picked Iggy simply because he would fill a need. A tough top line RW who can be a game changer. We could also use his cap hit for 3 years while some of the young guys work their way up the lineup. Having his 5.3M on the books would allow us to move out underpreforming vets and bring up deserving rookies without worrying about the cap floor.

I think people are under the assumption that the players gained from dealing these players would remain. IE, just adding the salary. At least that's how I look at it.
If the deals had to be reversed, none for sure.

Is this an in their prime question or how they are right now?
Defense is our number one need right now. Jaybo for right now, Regher if he was in his prime. Or is he still? Don't hear much about him nowadays.
