Slow motion makes it look worse.
This is all on the piece of crap otherwise known as Matt Cooke....yes his hand glanced off of Weber's and pushed it up and that resulted in a direct face shot but that is not what started this exchange. If you look at about the 1:10 mark when they are jawing at each other Cooke spears Weber and that is what started the whole thing and he got less then he deserved. No way will Matt Cooke ever get the benefit of the doubt for anything.

I just find it funny that we have to have the date in the thread title. This POS does this too often that his incidents could be confused. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that judging by what happened after, he probably won't do anything stupid like this to Webber again.

It's a real shame that guys like McGrattan are driven out of the league due to not having a role anymore, while guys like Burrows and Cooke are still thriving away.

Oh absolutely.

What amazes me is the majority of posts in here bashing Cooke and taking Weber's side only because Cooke has a reputation. If Weber's cross check connects first in the exact same manner this thread amounts to nothing. It's a bit of a nothing play in my book. It's not like Weber was just standing around and Cooke came along and wacked him unprovoked.

That pretty much does describe how it started watch the video again. They were both skating towards the bench and Matt Cooke speared him..not hard but he said something and speared him.

Yes, and if Weber starts pounding him right then it's a different story and if Weber lets it go, Cooke never does the cross check to the face.

True but this is when being Matt Cooke gets Matt Cooke into trouble when Weber came at Cooke he raised his stick in a manner of pushing at Cooke's Chest and Cooke raised his and with a lot more velocity thrust it at Weber higher to hit him not push him. That is what I see anyway.

Hate to say it but I see it that way as well. Cooke glove hits the top of Webers glove and deflects up. If it wasn't Cooke I would say a probable accident.

Cooke is like a cheapshot though.
