I know Johnny has a LONG way to go to get even close to Datsyuk's level but they sure share a similar vision on the ice.

It's funny how you guys think Healey is a Leafs homer, because if you ask any Leafs fan we can't stand him either. He is not pro-Leafs. If anything he hates them.

He hates everyone. I really don't understand why he works in hockey, he doesn't seem to like it anymore

Not true, he loves himself. Loves to mention how he was an inaugural part of the Rangers cup winning team, and makes it seem like he's so tight with Messier and Gretzky. Funny how I don't see them name drop Heals in the same way. I guess its easy to forget the guy opening the bench door.

Well, at least last night's games (with the obvious exception of the Canucks and Jets) went OK for our standings even though we're out of a wildcard spot.

LA lost in OT (stupid loser point)
SJ lost in regulation
MIN/DAL ended in regulation

Was not a great night for the goalies all around.

I would bet money that the average goals per game go up significantly in Saturdays. Always seems to be high scoring games on Saturdays

I think realistically we sit 3 or 4 points out of the playoffs when all games are caught up, with likely one team to straddle out of the playoffs as well.

Disappointing given it was a much better picture prior to the 8 game slide (obviously) but given we are essentially at the half way point, looking at it big picture that's pretty good. Much better prognosis than we would have thought at the start, and a whole second half to try and get in. I wouldn't have thought for a second they'd be in striking distance at the half way point, so that's pretty cool.

Bang on.

Something I'd like to add

When I look at the standings, I don't pay attention to points. To make 96 points and the playoffs we need to be 14 games over .500. When you look at the standings based on games over .500 instead of points (number of games played became a lot less relevant) it looks like this:

1. Nashville - 16
2. Anaheim - 16
3. Chicago - 14
4. St Louis - 10
5. Vancouver - 8
6. Winnipeg - 8
7. LA - 7
8. San Jose - 6
9. Calgary - 5
10. Dallas - 4
11. Minnesota - 3
12. Colorado - 0
13. Arizona - (-4)
14. Edmonton (-14)

Two things become clear: Dallas is a lot closer than we think and it may not take 96 points. Also, Edmonton is no good
