I'm glad the Oilers got the 2015 1st rounder instead of Brandon Sutter at least.

I'm still bitter about getting nothing for Cammy last year.
Still hoped we would've gotten a 3rd rounder with conditions where it could end up a 2nd rounder depending on team success in the playoffs.

Yup. Glencross and Perron are not really comparable due to contract circumstances.

Edmonton wins that trade hands down. Saving grace is that the bar for Glencross is set a bit higher now.
Also, I bet Perron is doing cartwheels all the way to the airport.

I don't know. I'd rather have Sutter than the pick probably. He's a damn good two-way centreman, something they really need. Even in a deep draft, a late first isnt likely to end up better than Sutter.

MacT hands the reigns over to Nelson, says "Put your stamp on the team" Nelson gets 3 of 4 possible points in his first two games, beating the Kings, and playing a decent game against the Flames. Oilers have shown more heart in those two games than they had the last 5 years.
MacT's reward for him, trading their 26 year old, 2nd line LW with another year on his contract, for a 28 year old, bottom 6 winger on an expiring contract.
Everyone in that organization is put in a position to fail. when success creeps in, make it impossible to continue.... what a joke.
If there is not more going on, the league needs to step in. This is just getting pathetic.

I actually did not realize Perron still had a year left on his contract, so that changes things.

The Oilers have looked different since Frasier joined them. Really a guy who hates losing. I really hope they keep getting points and pick 3.

Why? Sutter would have been a drop in the bucket for that team. They suck that much.

I think this is actually 5.0 now, but then again the Oilers reset the clock to suit their own propaganda needs.

I hope the end up 3rd last and a team below them wins the lotto. No top 3 pick!

I really hope he lets loose on the Oilers organization on his way out the door.

Because I think the Oilers would be lucky if their late 2015 first rounder turned out as good as Brandon Sutter

Good trade for both teams. Edmonton did good getting a first for a disgruntled player. Pittsburgh needs wingers who can score. Edmonton doing something smart for a change. Perron had fully checked out this year. You could tell he thought the Oilers were a joke.

I would rather have Sutter too. But the point of that tweet was that Edmonton wasn't getting Sutter, and six weeks later took magic beans instead.
The odds of the Oilers scouts finding a good player in the late 20s are low, and the best thing one can really say about Klinkhammer is that he plays hockey.

5 goals for Perron right now....would anybody be shocked if he finished with 25-30 playing with either Crosby or Malkin.
