It's not some ignorant thing I made up, it is a fact that Quebec is a province divided politically, nationalistically and on some level culturally. It's the reason there are frequent separation referendums in that province.........again, it's a fact.
Pointing out that this may impact ticket sales to "Team Canada" games is far from an ignorant statement. It's true it may not be correct, but I was not trying suggest it be fact, just something that could be impacting sales. I also didn't say it was a bad thing, or provide any personal thoughts on it. I work with a large number of people based in Montreal, we talk hockey frequently as many of us are big fans. A handful of my Montreal based colleagues, do not support "Team Canada" anything, their personal beliefs don't align to it. While I will admit I didn't ask them specifically about this tournament, I'd wager those hard core hockey fans I know, will not be shelling out any money to watch Team Canada play in this tournament for that reason. And I don't doubt there are many others like them in the province.
So exactly what do I need to "educate" myself on? Again, way to add about 14000 layers of speculation to my original post, which is exactly what you would have needed to do to jump to my comment of being ignorant. And, don't call me ignorant in your post, then complain about name calling.........that's just ignorant.

Your post was/is ignorant. I never called you anything, see the difference?
the reason they are having trouble with ticket sales is price gouging.

That certainly a huge reason. There is also a portion of the hockey market there who has no interest watching a national tournament that does not contain a Team Quebec, and would prefer not to cheer for Team Canada.
Sorry in all your drivel you've failed to point out how my statement was ignorant in the first place. Still waiting for that explanation, or do you lack the ability to conjure up that argument (likely because it's not possible)?

To the complete shock of millions of North Americans, McDavid and Eichel will face-off at Centre ice, drop their sticks, and make out. Then they will walk off the ice, hand-in-hand (to drop their draft rankings to avoid playing for the Oilers)
You heard it here.

It kinda bothered me at the draft this year that we took a goalie(McDonald) with a premium second round pick and what makes it worse is that I think we took the wrong goalie...it looks like we should have taken Demko..
I get that picking goalies is not easy but in this case it might have been more prudent to concede to the pedigree. I will say this tho, Demko did not impress me all that much in last years Frozen Four but he seems to be having a decent year.

Early opinion:
Jack Eichel is the real deal. Pretty much as advertised, I've been far more impressed with Eichel than McDavid.
I like Max Domi, hes been entertaining. I'm looking forward to more of him as the game progresses.
Darnell Nurse takes a few too many risks for my liking and lets attackers get behind him more than I like.
Both goaltenders are playing excellent.

so, according to you, there is a large portion of montreal that would rather a team Quebec? I'm not even dignifying that with a response. It's pretty clear that you don't know what you're talking about. I'm not here to argue, you are who you are.

I read he needed surgery on both hips. But so has Eddie Lack, Comrie (Canada's starter), and Jonas Hiller. So it seems the procedure is not as scary as it sounds.
Other than that, I don't know what distinguishes Demko from McDonald and why we chose one over the other.

I'm a hockey fan, and I'd love to attend a game like this - but $100, plus tax, just to get into the building? #### that. I don't have that kind of money to piss away on two hours' worth of entertainment. Watching it on TV costs me nothing more than what I'd be paying regardless.
This isn't a Leafs game. Montreal doesn't have a bunch of businessmen coming down from Bay Street with tickets the company bought them so they can be seen, hash out their business deals, and pay zero attention to the game at all. Tickets have to be priced at a level where, at the very least, middle-class fans can afford to bring their families without re-mortgaging their home.

Couldnt agree more. Its a huge reason I rarely go to games anymore. By the time you've paid for tickets/parking/dinner/drinks/snacks a game can be a $500 proposition for one night for two people.
Or I can watch it at home or at my neighbourhood pub for much less hassle, no crowds and a fraction of the cost.
