Ferland hasn't shown enough that he should be here all year.

However, it probably will be one of the two kids, as it is likely to be temporary until they can make additional room to bring them back up. This is a GOOD problem to have!
Earned not given doesn't mean you have to do stupid things like waste an asset in Bollig simply because you want to make sure everything is done fair all the time.

As you suggest, it will likely be one of the kids, and from there hopefully they continue to play well and management is forced to find a "solution" with assets to ensure that they can award players as deserved and ice the best team for not only their performance but their prospects development.

Truth is, without some trades Ferland & Granlund aren't likely to be on the team full time this year.
I don't think Backlund is going to return any time soon.

Yeah, I would think getting a 4/5th should be reasonable. He's a good depth guy to have for a lot of teams, just doesn't seem to much room on our team for him at the moment.

#Flames lines in Buff, with Hudler missing:
Glencross-Monahan-Byron
Gaudreau-Jooris-Colborne
Raymond-Granlund-Jones
Bollig-Stajan-Bouma.
Looks like Hartley could see a problem in the making with Raymond-Granlund and Byron.... That line ends up with Byron being the "Beef".

You know there is nothing wrong with that. Granlund and Ferland getting more ice time in the AHL will not hurt them in the least.

Funny thing is, even though he is tiny, he is the "biggest" player on the team with how he plays.

Why does every line need beef?

Tarasenko - Lehtera - Schwartz is one of the best lines in the league right now, Byron would also be the "beef" on that line.

It's OK to put 3 skilled players together

While I agree with your point, that's not a great example .. Neither Tarasenko or Lehtera are small.

Jori Lehtera C 6' 2" 210
Vladimir Tarasenko R 6' 0" 219

I think McGrattan gets waived. He takes a few days away, and then is "placed" in Europe somewhere.

3 skilled players is fine, but there needs to be some size to the line. Unless you have 3 gaudreau's/ extremely skilled shifty players.

Yeah I thought I saw somewhere that his season could be in doubt now that he had to get surgery.

They held off the surgery because they hoped it would heal itself and he would be able to play at some point. Could be gone for the season now.

Oh ya, let's definitely keep these boards to "fact only", no personal thoughts or opinions allowed. Isn't that the whole point of boards. You must have a really tough time here.

The idea that McGrattan is some mythical creature who just makes the locker room a great place to be irks me for two reasons:
1) These guys are pro hockey players. Even the youngest guy on the team has seen players and friends cut and traded off their teams for years.
2) Indirectly you are saying the other guys don't have the personality/great attitude of McGrattan.

He's just a guy. He's friends with Monahan but I'm confident Monahan isn't going to go into a depression if McGrattan leaves. Its a business and McGrattan is a pro player like the rest of them.
