ISOHunt is still up, furthermore they've resurrected a psuedo-PirateBay using PirateBay's saved database.

NSFW!

Repeat visitors is pretty irrelevant depending on how your advertising works.

Some are simply click based, some have value for "impressions" but those are pretty rare these days, most people pay only for clicks on ads.

What is ideal for a smaller forum like CP is doing direct advertising, like the sponsored forums, those are generally done as a contact, 6 month, 12 month and these people realize the value of having their name out there to a very specific targeted audience like one that will have access to a demographic of hockey fans, sports fans, Calgarians, etc..

I know CP could actually do more and increase the revenue, but they seem very happy to make enough to upgrade servers and pay their bills.

Huge websites like piratebay use aggressive Ads, the pop ups, in hopes of forcing clicks. Yes tpb makes probably solid money through their ads, but its nowhere near what people would imagine. Thankfully their bandwidth is not as bad as it could be, most of their pages are links, very little images that are loaded which can up the bandwidth cost.

The key for tpb was their contract with not the annoying pop up ones, but all the porn ads on their site, those do come with some serious money, mostly click based as well but obviously porn ad click throughs are much higher than those annoying "make $7000 a day from home" ads

EZTV was on the of the casualties of the raid. They are working on getting back up.

ExtraTorrent and KickAssTorrents are still up though.

I have no idea about CP but with TPB it depends what you imagine I guess...the ads are pre-sold and the rates are high. There is a waiting list

they are not paid per click, per sale, CPM, their ads are sold flat rate and have been sold out for years. I once owned a major torrent site that has now been taken down I know all these guys

Trust me they were doing very well, but in the end its not worth the risk
