Glad hes gone. Maybe this will light a fire under Bollig. If not then place him on waivers as well. He is either playing half hearted (still missing Chicago) or he is not as good as Treliving thought.

Soooo.....no firing him from a cannon into the sun then?
Thats a shame. What a waste of a perfectly good cannon...

I'm sure Granlund and Jooris are having that discussion right now. There will be some sort of "Whoever came remove the namebar from Seto's old jersey first wins the number" contest later this week.

Jooris vs. Granlund in the Thunderdome for #22. Or a least a fist fight in the locker room with the Star Trek fight music blaring in the background.

Hopefully he goes down there and works hard, and acts as a good mentor for the kids.
Hard to believe he is only 27 and has 127 goals in this league with his current level of play. In particular his skating looks pretty rough, is there some kind of lingering injury issue?

I'd rather just leave Jones on the IR until tomorrow(can we get away with that?). I'd much prefer a sharper Sven and Knight in the team than have them sit out until Setoguchi clears. My gut tells me we won't see Jones tonight.

Nobody's really mentioned it but I suppose there's a chance that he gets claimed?

If ECHL teams can put in a claim, then yes, there's a chance.

Not gonna miss him, that's for sure. Is this the end for him in the NHL?

Not sure if it is still the case, but prior to the season starting Seto was the leader in career goals on the Flames. Hard to believe with the way he has played for us.

Really interesting that 2 wingers who lit it up with Jumbo Joe are both out of the league. It's like the Sports Illustrated jinx or something.

Flames won't comment until tomorrow
Kristen Odland @KristenOdlandCH
Flames will address media on Setoguchi tomorrow once the player is cleared or claimed.

The writing was on the wall for him. I understand why he was signed, because we weren't quite sure what we had in our prospects. But it's obvious now he's been passed by them. Good luck in the A.

Maybe a longshot, but perhaps San Jose would be interested to see if he can be productive with Thornton again.

Pretty much. The kids buried him on the depth chart.

He was the only Flame on roster who had a 30 goal or 60 pt season on his resume.
Sure he played with great linemates, but a great achievement nonetheless.
It was worth giving him a shot, but he will certainly not be missed on the ice.

I'd be willing to bet that if Jones can play tonight, Hartley will insert him and we'll see the paper transaction (along with the associated outrage) sending Baertschi to Addy for the day.

If I recall correctly, and unless they changed it, you cannot do paper transactions, but the player must actually get on a plane if he is being sent down. I have some vague recollection of that happening last year - but I drink to excess quite often and both forget and imagine things...
