Special mention to the players who went the extra mile to make his day: Wideman, Monahan, coach Hartley, Smid, and especially Hudler.
He was lucky enough to have every Flames player (except one) and Hartley sign his flag. He, my son, had this exchange with Engelland:
Tristan: you are wearing my second favourite number, so you could be my second favourite player.
Engelland: thanks, sounds great. Wait, who is your first favourite?
Tristan: Monahan.
Engelland: Can't argue with that.
Gaudreau and Hudler had the goal of the day, a two on two with about 17 passes. I was too dizzy to tell which one of them scored.
Wideman unleashed slapshots with no reservation today.
Glencross, for some reason, decided to tell everyone rinkside about all his nagging injuries. He was answering someone's question. He was early off the ice, followed by Hudler.
Setoguchi, McGrattan and Ferland recieved a double dose of bag skate at the end. Hartley stayed out and worked them very hard. But always with such humour and encouragement. Big Ern was flying on the last one, surprised people. I think Ferland has caught up to and surpassed Setoguchi in conditioning.
Though exhausted McGrattan signed everything, posed for pictures, and talked to people. He also spent some time with Neil on the Sens bench.
I told Byron to get three this time.
Smid and Hartley had some great chemistry, looked like they were best friends. Of the defense Smid and Engelland always seem loose, Giordano and Brodie very serious.
Jooris was killing it in the faceoff battles with the centers.
Thats about it, fun morning.

It hope it will be a weird game with a fast tempo. I say Johnny Hockey will turn Karlsson inside out on at least one play on his way to a four-point outing. Sven will injure two players. We win 7-4 and Ramo scores a goal.

Shouldn't you be trolling SNET personalities over twitter? Hmm, wonder why we don't have contributions from Millions, Walker etc. any more....

I counted "3" passes up or down the boards (not even talking about high chance of failure cross icers), that got picked because there was nothing behind them.
They didn't go on to an odd-man rush, but that isn't the point, they were poor giveaways. A kid with his much talent can do a lot better.

This is exactly how Hartley has asked Guadreau and every other player to play. It's part of the team's success, as he's given them the chance to try plays and not be afraid to make mistakes.
There's a whole damn article on it today. Just try your best to read and interpret it and then get back to us with more of your nonsense.

Is "3" in quotes because it was not 3?
I counted none. There were a couple where they would have been good except the recipient blew it by turning away. They will learn to go where the open spot is and he will hit them.
There were no "poor giveaways". You may have been watching the wrong game.

I'm not saying sit him tonight, I'm saying he needs to be better or he should be.
Unless you want the circus on the North End of the QEII to arrive here, where players do what they want, when they want, without answering for it?

Ok now, let's not get crazy. Gaudreau has made a couple passes right into defenders skates now and then, but most of that is on the power play where he's trying to create. He's learning what works and doesn't work in the NHL still, so I don't mind it too much. I have rarely, if ever, seen him give away a puck where it led to a great chance for the opponent, and if it did happen, Gaudreau would often go and steal the puck back right away. His +8 plus/minus (2nd on the team) would agree with my assessment and NOT the assessment of WRUCOS.
But then again, trolls just can't help but troll. Moving on…

The circus from Edmonton is an Edmonton circus. It does not leave Edmonton.

Gaudreau had a few giveaways last game, I will take it though. He's young and does some great things.
I will admit freely that I was quite skeptical of how Johnny would do. Now, I am giddy with excitement every time he is on the ice.
For that entertainment value, I will take a few missed drop passes, etc.

Appreciate it Aeneas,
The previous 5 replies had me believing they were watching a different game.
Everyone's drinking the Gaudreau Kool-Aid (including me) doesn't mean he's above improvement or that were trolls or haters.

I concur that he made a couple of errant passes - but that happens with creative players.
I do not agree that he played poorly or needs to sit. He had a couple good takeaways and was his usual back-checking fiend of a self. He also set up several good plays and should have had a goal from a 2 on 1 give-and-go-and-give-and-go with Hudler. Gaudreau had an empty net from it but fanned on the play.

Again, you need to acquire some reading comprehension skills. I said those mistakes were encouraged by the coach in the name of finding his game. Not that there were no mistakes. Jesus, you're a frustrating poster to argue with.

I didn't mention backs at all in this thread, and that was never hate. As you can see in this thread alone, dog piling is an issue here. There is no sense of acknowledgement to an actual occurrence of something that happened in a game.
If Seto or Jones breathe wrong, its worthy of 2 exclusive threads per day and honorable mention in the other 10 threads that are active.
But dare to mention Gio, Brodie, Monahan, Gaudreau....get down!
It comes down to sensible moderation as dog piling reflects really poorly on the community.
