Bad advice.
Look straight ahead or at your GF and use your peripheral vision when they come out.
If the GF mentions them say "Oh yeah, didn't notice them".

Don't do this. She knows damn well that you noticed them.

A bit upscale, but once a season I take the wife to La Vita e Bella before the game. It's right next to the casino, and it is very tasty Italian food. Plus they let you park in their parking stalls (kitty corner across 12th) for the duration of the game for free. Even though it's a nicer place, it is still full of jerseys on game nights.
If you go - try the meatballs.

Pre-game skate starts 36 minutes prior to the official game time. (Or when you're in the Dome, glance up at the countdown on the jumbotron—players hit the ice right at the 16 minute mark.)

We used to go to Vagabond for drinks and food before games. It's the closest bar to the dome, good atmosphere on game nights and decent food. Now the service is just horrible...it seems like the servers are just sick of flames fans. Still, decent place to go for beers and appys given how close it is.

Ugg, I just can't do it anymore, it's betrayed my trust too many times over the years.
The heroine beer is like an old college drinking buddy, back in the day when you could cure a hangover with a greasy breakfast you were good to go out with that buddy every weekend. But as you got older the hangovers started getting worse and worse, and lasting longer and longer. Till eventually you had to cut said drinking buddy out of your life.
Yeah, that's heroine beer for me at this point.
EDIT: Just realize you were addressing that comment to OP... yes OP, try the heroine beer. It's a right of passage at least.

Can anyone tell me what the policy is for costumes at the game tomorrow? Masks/no masks, or does it matter?.. Do people even usually dress up, or just some?.. Got to imagine security is gonna be tight.

Totally acceptable.
Most people won't have a costume on, but there will be plenty. It's fun. Enjoy yourself. Even if you were the only people in the Dome with a costume on, who cares? (you won't be though)

take deerfoot to 17th east, go through inglewood and park in the private lots north/east side of the dome for $10 and a relatively short walk to and from the game(also, easy way out, don't have to deal with the mess that is most other dome entrances)
grab a dome beer from the bottom fill places
watch the warmup from behind where the Zambonis come out
head to your seat
grab some nachos in the 1st intermission and another dome beer
enjoy game
maybe get another beer in the 2nd intermission if you're feeling rich

It's just a shame the Dome experience is nothing like the experience at some of the league's newer arenas. For example, avoid the washrooms at all costs unless you want to miss a good portion of a period.

Approach Bronco guy on the way in..
Yell out "I'm not buying OR selling hockey tickets, but I'm giving free hugs"
Embrace him with a big, long, sincere bear hug.
That jacket hasn't been washed since the Elway days. I'm sure he smells terrific!

If you're on the west side PL (sport chek), hit the Olympic lounge on the second level terrace. You can usually get a table and you won't have to deal with the main concourse mess. Good drink and food selection.
If you're on the east side PL, the restaurant it pretty similar but I don't know if you can get quick food there. Either way it's a good spot to grab a table and a decent drink during intermissions.

Dress like Scorch. That's the only acceptable costume. 20,000 Scorches, that's all I ask.

Sadly the greatest pre-game experience is no more. The Lion's Den was the place to go for us before games. More often than not the owner would let you self serve your beer from the cooler, honour system. He would walk around with a big tray of steaks he claimed to have butchered himself. Also had great homemade hotsauce, that according to the owner/maker of the hotsauce cured cancer.
Sadly, it was damaged beyond repair during the floods.
I have not been to a game at the Dome since we moved, but when I do it there will be a hollow feeling.
