The Islanders want to (need to) make the playoffs this year. Its different from the Flames giving up 2nd rounders for 30 year old players.

Completely agree. For the Islanders, it is just what they need. Not having any picks this summer will suck, but solidifying their D, and (possibly) making the playoffs, is what their franchise needs, not more 2nd round picks

Great return for the Bruins and Johnny will be a huge addition to the Isles back end. Talk about leading by example every shift, that is what Boychuk gives to a team.
Would had loved to see Boychuk come back to Calgary but at this stage the Flames need those 2nd round picks.

wonder if they'd ship someone like Anders Lee to Chicago. Looking at the team I posted, there isn't really a spot for him and it won't get easier with Dal Colle etc coming through the ranks. Maybe something around Lee and one of their D prospects like Pulock or Pokka?
