Flames because we have Ramo, Baertschi, Gaudreau, Monahan, Bennett, Wotherspoon, Brodie, Ferland, Granlund, Wolf, Smith and Poirier. We are on the upswing as where the other teams are at best treading water.

Price isn't that good, he's solid but not on Lundqvist or Quick's level. One of the luckiest series ever for them to beat Boston with countless ringers off the post. It would've been 4-1 if not for insane puck luck, don't see Price shutting down LA or Chicago on his own.

I think I've simultaneously won and lost this debate.

If the jets can somehow turn Kane into a couple of players like towers and Kane and schiefle can put up about 80 points, and the can have a damn develop quickly and get some stability in net then things are looking good for the jets.....otherwise I'd have to say Montreal.

Can't see anyone other than the Hawks, Kings, Ducks, Blues, Bruins and Pens winning the cup for the next 3-4 years. Maybe throw the Wild in there.

The only one I can see being a possibility is the Flames and that's not me being a homer. The amount of good prospects we have in the system plus the likely addition of one of the top 4 super prospects and likely another top 10 pick next year, and we'll be well on our way.

The Oilers first need to learn how to play hockey.

The Jets are off to a good start, but they need to get some more high end talent in there, which I think their team is too good for them to be bad enough.

Vancouver and TO are waffling trying to go up when they aren't good enough and are also not bad enough to get enough good talent.

Ottawa is 2-3 years behind where Calgary is, and they might not rebuild yet entirely.

Montreal is good but they are too small. Small teams usually get thumped if the teams are equivalently talented. I don't see how they beat Anaheim, LA, Dallas, or Chicago if they match up against them in the Finals.

Yeeeaah, unfortunately it really isn't. Unless you consider teams like the Kings, Hawks and Bruins least likely to bring home the bacon.

Long road ahead for the Jets and all Canadian teams before any of them get close to the finals. Montreal has the greatest chance for the near future. Sad but true. But as its already been said, I don't like their chances against one of the big Western teams.

I hate hate hate to say it, but right now it's looking like the Habs.

I think they fail though and one of the rebuilding club finally gets the cup north again. *cough cough*..

The Habs have 2 of the 3 pieces in Subban and Price.

They need the center depth. If Galynchuk takes big strides over the next two years they will have a good 3yr window open up. With the east being easy it increases their chances of making the final. They are the only Canadian team with a shot in the next 3yrs. In 5yrs we will see where Calgary, Winnipeg and Edmonton get to. Toronto and Vancouver have peaked and are in decline. Ottawa just treads water.

Has to be a joke. Otherwise that is honestly the dumbest opening sentence I have ever read on this board. The Jets... a powerhouse? If finishing in the top 10 in the conference is all that's needed to be a powerhouse then I guess that's fine. But even then that's quite the reach for the hapless Jets.

Aren't the Jets essentially just the remnants of a team that's never won a single game in the playoffs in over 15 seasons? They're probably the worst franchise in the history of the league (at least one that's been in existence for more than a decade).

Flames... after we get McDavid.

Next Canadian team to make a Conference final though? Montreal.

Montreal will find itself in the Stanley Cup Finals again within the next 3-4 years only to get punished by the Blues/Ducks/Hawks/Kings.

I'm predicting the Flames upswing coincides with the decline of those teams. If that does happen (and our players reach their potential) the Flames could be a contender within the next 5 years.

Johnny just wins Championships.

The Habs are the closest right now, and will likely be the only Canadian team in the playoffs again this season, but they won't get over the final hump. The Nucks and Leafs aren't allowed to ever win. The Jets and Sens are forgettable. The Oilers are perpetually no good.

It won't necessarily be soon, but the next team to do it will be the Flames.
