Would pretty awesome if Carroll ended up being a surprise NHLer.

Hudler just scored a sweet one-timer off the bar and in.

4-0 final for White.
Agostino was the most impressive IMO.

Gaudreau got stuck playing with McGrattan who thinks he's Wayne Gretzky out there. Also was getting matched against the 7 foot mobster Yonkman. Good puck possession though.

Wideman is an absolute bum who was once again lazy and taking slap shots high at his teammates. Also, the only player not wearing the ankle guards. Nice FU to management.

As a unionized member, he doesn't have to wear those skate guards, even if management wanted him to. That was mandated last year between the league and PA. Strange you would make this a negative point.

For team A, Brodie, Gaudreau, Giordano, McGrattan and McDonald all looked good. Hiller was kind of mediocre considering his stature. I do not like Tousignant at all. He's a Maxime Lapierre type D-bag and I really dislike that type of guy. Most of the rest of the guys were either not overly noticeable or were just okay.

Team B - Agostino, Arnold, Bouma, Byron, Carroll, Elson, Ferland, Hudler, KULAK, and Sieloff were all very good. Kulak seems to have taken a step forward in his development and is looking very dangerous offensively and good defensively. Made quite a few good plays. Hopefully he keeps progressing, as he might just become another TJ Brodie.
Also, Carr was good between the pipes. Solid goalie.

Fram was played at forward and looked okay at times. Monahan was decent, but he could be a bit better. Everyone else was decent.

Team C - Sven was dangerous every time he had the puck. Colborne was good at times, Gedig was as well. Hathaway was one of the top forwards. Magee was also noticeable. I really like Wolf. Nearly got into a fight with Sieloff and was a wrecking ball. If we didn't have McGrattan, I'd say he'd be a lock to start with the Flames. He's basically what you'd get if you merged Clutterbuck with McGrattan. He'll hit everything, and it'll hurt because he's huge.

Paul Byron should be on the Flames at the start of the year. He's very dangerous. I wouldn't be shocked if he became a decent offensive threat this year.

Sounds like Raymond-Monahan-Hudler has stuck together as has the Giordano-Brodie pairing. Any other line and pair combinations that have stood out?

I don't understand why they're lining up Gaudreau with goons against goons. He shouldn't have to worry about being decapitated by a camp invite out there, at the same time he should be put in situations where he can showcase his skills, not where the play is gonna die as soon as he passes off the puck. He was playing with grats yesterday too.

Don't know what the coaches are doing there. Makes no sense. He's not playing on the fourth line if he makes the team, surround the kid with realistic linemates. It's like they're purposely putting him in impossible situations to give an excuse to cut him. (Ok, just my conspiracy theory side rambling lol) but still.....

They need to see if he can handle going up against a Yonkman type guy that's gunning for him. He will get hurt pretty bad if he can't handle it. I'm sure other teams will try lining up their most physical guys up against Gaudreau's line to try limit him because of his size.

That's fine so long as yonkman doesn't try to kill him, just limit him. But at least give him skill players to work with. If I were trying the kid out for third line duty I'd have him skating with Colborne and Monahan, or Byron.

I think they have a plan with Gaudreau.. Maybe they are playing him against goons to figure out how he will do if placed on the NHL roster.

I can guarantee you that other teams are going to play bigger guys against him, so why not see how he will handle that situation now?

Seems like a great test to see if he's ready for the big leagues.

There are few players in the league that kind find success playing on a line with McGrattan.

Gaudreau cannot play in the bottom 6, so there's no point in lining up with those kinds of players. His college linemates were better hockey players.

Two days into scrimmages and Gaudreau hasn't won the Calder, Hart, and Conn Smythe trophies yet? Coaches must hate him.
