Funny thing with soccer is that it is such a common practice now that I actually find international jerseys look a little off since they don't have the advertising.

Regardless of what jersey you are talking about your argument is stupid.
No way that 100% of the people who say they wouldn't buy one change their mind and buy one. Yes, some people will buy one but to say 100% will is just flat out wrong.

Without a doubt.
I'd prefer if soccer jerseys stayed EXACTLY the same minus the ad. Those would be extremely nice. I think that would me much classier than NHL jerseys now.
I'm not a fan of big logos period. Ads or not.

And I disagree. I stand by my assumption that 100% of people who already regularly purchase jerseys would eventually continue to buy them should they add a logo in the same vein as Soccer jerseys.

I don't suppose you would like to wager a CP donation on that?

Ha ha ha...
Fans would never see a cent of this.
I hope that they never go down this road; it would really turn me off as a fan and I would likely take my money elsewhere.

No need in hockey, there's enough advertising space as is with commercials, 2 intermissions, 3-4 games a week, 82 games a year etc.
Soccer is totally different as that's a sport with no commercial stoppages, only 1 break(half time), usually 1 game a week and half as many games a season.
The revenue streams from advertising in each sport are completely different, particularly TV time.

It's bound to happen unless the NHL somehow, someway gets an NFL like contract during the next round of negotiations, and by that time it'll likely be too late.
As long as it's not intrusive on the logo crest, and done like the CFL jerseys are, it'll be alright. People won't care about it much since the logo wouldn't be that big or drastic.

Took me a second to get this but what an excellent idea. Every CPer can donate $5 and let's make this happen.

As a fan of soccer, I hate soccer team jerseys. I'd never buy one.

As long as they keep it classy and subtle like the Milan Fly Emirates, I don't mind them.

You're still wrong. I'm not buying a jersey that has ads on it. Don't care where they are or how small they are, I'm not going to do it.

I really enjoy that you continue to stand by your assertion, even when proven wrong. Even when you have been provided with evidence that completely contradicts your feelings, you continue to push forward, looking even more foolish with each post. Jenny McCarthy and Donald Trump would be proud of you.

I've bought about 20 jerseys. If the Flames went the way of the soccer jerseys, I wouldn't buy one. It's that simple. I'd continue to wear the ones I've already purchased to games. If they put a patch or something similar to the CFL jerseys, it wouldn't stop me from buying one. Your stance that I would 100% buy one, is 100% wrong. I don't know how to be any more clear. Your unwavering view here isn't surprising though.

I think they should leave the jerseys alone. If the league or teams feel that there is a significant need to sell advertising space on the players I think they should look at corporate logos on the helmets.

I only buy Jerseys I like, I own the old Flames jerseys worn in the 80's and the 2004 version, I think anything else the Flames have put out is crap including our current versions, and that 3rd jersey. Putting ads on the jerseys will have an effect on the sales league wide.

There are some flexible display screens that can be incorporated into clothing. Perhaps when that is further developed it can be used for jersey advertising. This way an ad can be added and changed on the display, without changing the static appearance of the jersey

Totally. Plus all the advertising on the boards, the jumbotron advertising... I have advertising fatigue as it is.
And those euro jerseys are beyond hideous.
