Agreed. You should also turn down the AP power to facilitate better hand-off between APs. If you have all your APs broadcasting at full power and there’s heavy overlap in their coverage, connectivity can end up being really poor as devices are handed back and forth between APs.
I have ours tuned so in-home coverage is reliable. I can get wireless in the back yard and the garage thanks to an outside AP that wirelessly meshes with an indoor AP... but with coverage that drops off within a foot of driving away from the garage pad. Similarly, we can get coverage in the front yard, but stepping off the curb drops the signal strength to NIL.
