I'd love to know why you paint so many people with such a broad brush.

I'm not going to defend what happened with this (if anyone has a screen grab or the like so I can read the story that ran, please forward to me), but "never bother to report factual occurrences" is rather inflammatory.

I'm curious why you'd say that. I know on many occasions I've spent hours - sometimes to the detriment of my family life - chasing stories to confirm things.

By the way, please let me know what Canada's "elite media" is.
It was an inappropriate tongue in cheek comment. I have removed it and apologize unreservedly for the comment. Your point on Jason Blair is well taken. Proper review of content for stories is a difficult job for editors and individual reporters alike, with an element of industry standards, media outlet standards, personal standards and editorial discretion all playing a part I am sure. My apologies again.

I accept your apology.
You may have felt it was tongue in cheek, but from my end felt like my integrity - as well as all those I work with - was being called into question, and that's why I reacted.
I'm not defending what happened on that story, and am willing to take criticism for mistakes or the like at any time.
