I just can't wait to watch some hockey! Beyond all, it is about watching the progression of the younger players hoping they progress. I am also a bit more excited for the WJC in December because their is a good chance that the team may have multiple Flames prospects (can't remember the last time that could be said). The common theme for sure is around the younger players.
What I am dreading is that period from January to the trade deadline. Those dog days are tough when the expectation is you will be outside looking in while teams go on playoff drives. The previous years we had the Olympics and the shortened season to break up that stretch. Not so much this time.

I'm excited to see what our opening line-up will look like.
This training camp is going to be a battle. Quite possibly the most competitive battle for a roster spot the Flames have ever had. Lots of young talented players are ready to push for an NHL spot.
The AHL will also be exciting to follow this year, as we should be able to fill a nice roster with very few plugs.

Other than the things everyone else is bringing up:
- Seeing how laughably bad Rogers broadcasts are
- Calgary Hitmen retro jerseys

On the downside, it also means the NFL season is in full swing.

Andironack Flames.
- Stacked team
- Easier division
- Better schedule
- Better coaching
- They were already a good team to begin with

It will be interesting to see the effect on the prospects in Adirondack of way less travel and way more practice time

Well, the pbp on radio is going to take a massive step down. Curious about the TV commentators, though.
Have they even figured that out yet? Any truth to all the rumours?

I'm an impatient guy. I really want to see some guys, mainly that 2011 draft crop, start making the NHL.

the inevitable arguments that result in the game threads between people who are "cheering for a loss" and those who think that makes them less of fans.
Some of the tangents during game threads were more entertaining than some of the games!

To finish 29th, 10 points ahead of Edmonton, and then win the draft lottery.

Not much to look forward to beyond Gaudreau for me. It's going to be a long season.

1. See if the Flames can continue to compete every game and at least make the opposition work for points.
2. In the second half the season see the progress of young players like Granlund/Reinhart/Wotherspoon, hopefully in the NHL by that point. I expect a couple of trades or injuries to allow young players to get some time in.
3. Continued growth by Brodie, Backlund, Colbourne nd Monahan into good secondary scoring to compliment Hudler, Glencross, Raymond. We may not have a 35-40 goal scorer but I expect good secondary scoring.

The letter "GDT" appearing and also seeing what new victory gifs people come up with.
Also the difference between our 1st game lineup and 82nd game lineup.
