I thought the point of it was so that you'd talk about what types of movies you like beforehand, and then you had a topic of conversation afterwards. It's been a long time since I've been on a first date though.

a. if the date doesn't go well, you can get out
b. if the date goes well you still have to go but make plans for next time.

Dinner and a movie is dumb.. do you really want to spend 4 hours on a first date? You want to have something to talk about next time and if you don't like her, you're stuck.

It's not my first time meeting her so I'm not too worried about getting along or anything. I took a girl skiing on a first date once. Now that was ballsy. Luckily I'm literally the best skier in the entire world.
