Their 'leaders' are lawyers as Phelps was. They make all kinds of money from lawsuits. The whole reason for their protests is to dare someone to take action (which has happened countless times) so they can sue them for assault or whatever- which pays for their 'church.' The guy who was awarded 5 million dollars when he sued the 'church' because they picketed his fallen son's funeral (military) had that decision overruled and had to pay about $17000 in court costs instead- to the 'church'- to give you an idea.
So, no- these people don't work. They live off blood money.
When one of my son's best friends died of an adolescent stroke at 17 on the football field, the idiots came to picket his funeral because it was 'God mad at my kid's high school for accepting gay teens'-so therefore my son's friend had to die. It took about 2 minutes before they buggered off when the football team went running after them with rage. We all stood together so the family couldn't see these idiots when they went into the church, and then it got ugly. No one was sued. The cops didn't see a thing... which is often the case when those wet turds show their faces.
