If we ended up in greenscreen with coffee and everybody having a good time, everybody will be happy, but most likely the film would be a piece of ####.

It wasn't necessarily the weather conditions that made it miserable. Lots of poorly planned shoots and needless waste of time. One in particular, the crew set up for a shot and even did a few takes. The director looks across the ravine and says I want to shot this over there. There was no way across by foot or by vehicle. They actually called in a crane to lift cast, crew and equipment over the ravine. The crane billed at something like $1500/HR and spent most of the day moving stuff back and forth. All for a 3 second shot that may not even make it to the final cut. They figure that one day went $500K over budget.
Most crews don't mind tough shots but when time and money is wasted needlessly that's where they get antsy. Nobody can be as cheap but waste more money than the movie industry.

It'll probably be an amazing movie then -- most of these 'troubled shoots' turn out to be amazing and make for good fodder for 'Top Ten Best Movies That Were Nightmare to Film!' on Buzzfeed.
That trailer is perfect. Rarely do trailers get me excited for a movie anymore but this one is really well done. The last clip with Leo riding the horse is really intense.
