I agree, OM has the better chance of becoming an NHL regular than Kanzig. I have OM behind Smith, McDonald, and Wolf. Kanzig is around the 23-25 range for me.

I believe in the Jays.

Don't really like any of the choices left now... it's a pick between Smith, Hanowski and Culkin (I have a good feeling about Hickey but I think I'll need to see how he fairs in the NCAA before rating him higher). Guess I'll pick Smith.

I'm going with Gilmour as the least-long of the long shots.
Kanzig has the most upside, but is still very much a long shot.
McDonald? Predicting that a teenage goalie will be an NHLer? Hey, If you'll buy that, I've got some excellent timeshare investment opportunities for you.
Smith is a runner too, but I'm going to stick with Gilmour. Vanilla defenceman who is good and improving. Culkin is probably a valid choice too.

Historically about 25% of 2nd round picks turn out. With having a couple from this most recent draft still on board, I rather like our chances of one of the two suiting up as a NHL regular.
Maybe they should have gone higher, or maybe this is just a testament to how deep this pool has surprisingly quickly become.
Some 2nd round stats here.

Going with McDonald here. My guess is that he will have a good shot at the World Junior team as a 19 year old. May surprise a few people long term, but then again, goalies are weird.

Went with Hickey. Thought he looked really good at the development camp and excited to see how he progresses at BU.

I know, I know…we have time for this.

I think we have to see this through, if for no other reason than to finally see pgsieve's vote on a winning ballot.

Stopping at 20 and calling it a top 20 list might be best.

Why? So we can be done with this by August 1, and sit around for the next month and a half with our thumbs up our butts waiting for training camp?

Yeah, it's not like voting is mandatory. Those who want to stop voting at some point can choose to do so. I'll probably stop after a few more names for example.

Love these polls Bingo! Going through World Cup withdrawal, no Premier League for 2 more weeks & it seems like forever until the puck drops again.
Tight race between the 2014 2nd round picks. Both players difficult to project because they are both "projects" (Smith, because he came out of nowhere this season & McDonald because he just happens to be a goalie).
Went with Mason again. Tough to predict his career ark, but he definitely has the potential to be a top starting goalie. Top goalie prospect from the draft and he barely cracks the top 20? Crazy $#!+.

I think that re-doing a tie vote only to discover that it is a tie again is kind of a pointless exercise. But it's not like I am going to lose sleep over it, or paint my body red and start a sit-in protest demonstration in front of the CP offices or anything!
Seriously, these prospect votes are among my favourite threads and a great way to create good discussion in summer (even if I have to put up with the run-offs) - thanks for doing them Bingo!
