I think it's a great move for them, especially when you consider they still have $21 million in cap space AFTER all the signings today.
Will he even be healthy for half the contract?

Who knows? You can make that case for any player at any point because quite frankly, the way the game is today, nobody is safe from injuries that can derail a career. All I know is he's worth the gamble because he's a great asset to any team.

I know we get tired of all the bluster from Toronto about certain players, but I've been a Bolland fan for a long time now and it hasn't changed just because he was injured for a bit.

One of everyone's favorite flames is Backlund who had really bad injury troubles for a while but seems to have suffered no long term effects from it and really was a valuable player last year, but not overwhelming stat-wise. You could probably say the same thing for a player like Bolland in that he doesn't overwhelm you stat-wise, but is an important player for any team.

You don't have to like the signing, BTW, I just happen to think it's a good move for the Panthers despite the dollars and term.

$5.5 million for a perpetually injured third line centre?

Worst signing of the day.

I agree. Horrible contract for a 3rd line scrub.

And if they signed Bolland to that deal you'd say it's crazy.
