Mexico needs another goal. 30 minutes is a lot to prevent a goal with the expected pressure.

Mexico got the goal they deserved. They have been the better team.

Two should have been penalties cancelled each other out. Robben got hacked and the dutch defence definately had a high foot in the box negating a chance earlier.

Is it like hockey in that the whole ball must cross the line?

Mexico has really fallen back after the goal.. Dutch now knocking on the door, gotta think they will get a goal unless mexico starts pushing forward again.

Robben chose to flop instead of finish his chance. Embarrassing

Well this is interesting. Apparently the cooling breaks were a result of Brazilian labor laws

http://blogs.wsj.com/dailyfix/2014/0...ooling-breaks/

Quote:
A Brazilian labor court on Friday ruled cooling breaks during World Cup matches are obligatory when temperatures soar, challenging FIFA, the tournament’s organizer.

Judge Rogerio Neiva ruled that players must be given breaks when the ambient temperature – which takes into account humidity, wind and actual temperature – exceeds 32 degrees Celsius (90 degrees Fahrenheit).

The judge accepted the recommendation of labor prosecutor Pinheiro Valdir Pereira da Silva, who’d argued that players should be given breaks after about 30 minutes of play in each of the two 45-minute halves of a soccer match. FIFA faces a fine of 200,000 Brazilian reais (about $90,000) for every match where there is no break.
Of course FIFA could afford the fines, but I guess they decided that it's not a bad idea as such, and that blatantly disobeying court orders would be uncool.

He was never going to get to the ball that's why he flopped.

Too obvious for these good refs.

I don't understand mexico, they are not applying pressure to the ball until the final third, it seems a bit suicidal

Great job by the ref not to fall for Robben's crap. Just stand up and play, you're down 1-0, don't worry about flopping everywhere.

I get the feeling Robben is going to again get a legit penalty or free kick against him late in the game, but no call due to the flopping.

Especially when they were the better team when they were contesting the midfield.
