I'm happy we've added a couple of big, RH-shots in Smith and Carroll. And who knows? Considering we have very little depth at RW right now we might see Austin get a few games this season.

A lot of players and people go through ton of adversity but losing a family member has to be the most devastating. What counts is how you respond to it.
Carroll from watching couple vids and interview is one of my fav Flames prospects now. Hope he makes it.
The kid has a nice stride for a big man and displays a goal scorer's touch. Kind of makes me wonder what made him get passed over? Hope he ends being a late round gem, for the Flames and for his father.

After watching this video I am very glad the Flames selected him instead of someone else and especially instead of letting him go undrafted and picking him up then. His dad would have been incredibly proud and happy to see him drafted by an NHL team and hopefully that Calgary connection is still big enough that he would be ecstatic that it was the Flames who selected him.
