No $hit. Backlund is finally a great two way player and now people are talking of trading him?

My bet is Wideman at 50% retained + our 2nd for their 1st.
That's over 7 million saved by the Islanders, who add a guy for 3 years who is immediately their best defenceman.
And if we are getting another top 10, I want Virtanen.

That chart is off... in recent NHL trade history never has 2 2nd round picks gotten you a 1st mid round pick.
You are looking at a late 1st (#25-30), perhaps early 20s if you are lucky

I expect Nicholas Ritchie to be a big mover up tonight. Told the most interested teams who pick high tonight are Calgary and Florida.

People are adding our two 2nds, which would be a horrendous trade.

The pissed off look we would get from the Canucks would be priceless as I believe they have Virtanen targeted.

Beartchi is elite level talent, you don't give that up for a chance at elite level.
I have a feeling Hudler is in play for this trade.

I think Burke suggests to Treliving that we offer up Sven, seeing as he thinks Ritchie could come in sooner than later and would be a bigger, better alternative if he pans out. I'd be touchy about giving up any player we've spent time developing. But as I've said before, you have to give to receive. It largely depends on the needs of teams like NYI and CAR.
34 (2nd) + 64 (3rd) + Sven + valuable roster player (Hudler/Backlund/Smid)?
maybe adding a 2015 pick as well?

This x 10000.
Also, with #4 please take the consensus BPA. This is the highest pick we've ever had and could fast track our rebuild.
Please don't screw it up.

Look, Sven is a good prospect, but I'm pretty sure if I was a GM and looking for young LW his name would be up there on my list. The LW depth is good enough to move Sven out to address other team needs. I get the hesitance to trade him but his availablility in trade could actually help balance out the team.

Sven is a guy who couldnt stay in the NHL on an offensively challenged 4th worst team last season. He has holes in his game - and I actually like the guy.
Let's not forget that.

Is this to much or to little...Widemen, Hudler, and one of our second picks or both second picks to Edmonton for there third and Gagne? Oh wait we need to spend money to get to the Cap. Well we could spend like drunk oil workers at the free agency then.
Be nice I'm just askin a question.

Baertschi has not proven he is elite level talent.
Ritchie is more highly touted than Baertschi was in his draft year, and he has "size", which our management is placing a premium on. With Gaundreau already in the system, it's very likely management could see one of Baertschi or Gaudreau as expendable in the name of increasing size at the position.
I'm not a guy who wants to see Sven dealt, but I could understand why if Ritchie was the end game.

I never hear rumours (outside of here) but I actually heard this yesterday as well. NYI's pick for two roster players and a 2nd round pick is what I was told.
