This was one of the best 5 game series I've ever seen. Great job by both teams!

The Kings can request his name to be on the cup though

Extremely happy for Regehr. It's a shame he wasn't healthy for the Finals.

I don't think there's ever been a team that was as good at coming up big when it counted as this year's Kings. 3rd in their division, down 3-0 in the first round, down 3-2 (after losing 3 straight no less) in the second round, and three of the four games they won in the final went to OT.

The funny thing is, I would not be surprised if none of the players on this Kings team ever make it to the HHOF. Williams won the Conn Smythe, and he deserved to, but Kopitar, Gaborik, Carter, or Doughty would have been just as deserving. Truly a team effort.

What to say about Darryl Sutter? He was a failure as a GM, as we all know, but forget Babcock, or Cooper, or Roy; this man is the best coach in the league right now IMO. I was glad to see him back behind the bench where he belongs and I'm still glad.

All in all, an impressive, hard fought run ending in a well deserved Stanley Cup.

Doughty has a pretty good shot at the HOF. Two cups and two Olympic gold medals by 24, plus one Noris nomination is a great start. He likely needs a Noris win and longevity to make it, but he is well on his way. Overall I agree with your point though. Very impressive team, top to bottom, with lots of stars but not so many superstars.

Not a very competitive Finals, but they certainly earned the breeze with what they went through in the three prior series'.

The Kings beat the top 3 teams in the league who weren't them (SJ, Anaheim, Chicago), all in 7 games, trailing after 5 games in two of them, and winning all 3 series on the road. Certainly the best run in recent memory and way up there in terms of best runs ever. What a team, what a run.

Yeah, I know, I was just thinking of the requirements to make it a given.

The kings have so much depth it shows just how far the flames have to go. For years the kings were known for their stocked prospect pool before it started to pay off . Flames need to get to that point first

Good stuff. Mega congrats to Regher and Williams. Two of the good guys in the game. Sutter, Carter, Gaborik, Voynov etc. So many likeable players on this team.

Here's Brown hoisting the Cup then passing it to "Reginald".

Oh how Williams and Brodeur must feel to be in the same rarefied air as Fraser.
Colin Fraser is luckiest man in the league:

2010/06/24 - Chicago Blackhawks traded Colin Fraser to the Edmonton Oilers for a 6th round selection in 2010.
Wins a Cup, gets traded to Edmonton.

That sucks because Edmonton is No Good.

Plays 67 games for Edmonton which must have felt like a lifetime in Hell.

And then....

2011/06/26 - Los Angeles Kings traded Ryan Smyth to the Edmonton Oilers for Colin Fraser and a 7th round selection in 2012.

And two more cups.

Colin Fraser is the closest Edmonton has gotten to a cup since the last time Kevin Lowe went shopping for team jockstraps.

One of the best coaches ever, manages to keep his team forechecking with aggression more than any other team. Curious for a guy that many players can't understand

Maybe it's just me but I'm not hearing "Reginald" at 0:28. Maybe "Reg-imal"?!?
