If you want to be cooler than your average bear, you can get an E-Class wagon with a third-row rear-facing seat.
If you REALLY want to be the coolest mofo in town, get the E63 AMG Wagon. 550hp, 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, and 550 hp. The only downside is one kid has to stay home because there's no third-row.
If you just care about being a good dad and doing what's best for your family despite what society thinks, get a van.
Why not go to the G63 AMG?
Just downgrade your house to afford it.

Import a new Delica. Now that'll turn some heads. You can even have another kid or two and still have room.
Similar to that thought, I had a chance to ride in a Toyota HiAce in Panama last year and I thought that would be an awesome van to have here. It's effin huge inside, but pretty small on the outside. Would be a great family van.

When should you move your child from a forward-facing car seat to a booster seat?
Don’t hurry. Keep your child in the forward-facing seat he or she grows out of it. A forward-facing child seat spreads the force of a sudden stop or crash over the strongest parts of your child's body. Your child seat user guide will tell you the maximum weight and height for the seat. If your child grows out of the forward-facing seat, there may be another forward-facing seat that may still fit. There are forward-facing car seats that are made for children up to 30 kg (65 lbs)!
Even if your child weighs 18 kg (40 lbs) and your provincial/territorial law says you can use a booster seat, your child is safer in the forward-facing seat as long as he or she is still below the child seat’s weight and height limits.
When should you move your child from a booster seat to a seat belt?
Please check with your provincial/territorial law as to when your child can move to a seat belt.
the 2014 Durangos are nice. plus with a Hemi it's still a lot of fun to drive.
Second row has optional captain chairs, making getting to the third row a breeze.
At a better price point, the Journey's aren't bad, and slightly more appealing than a minivan.
Has anyone recommended getting the Radian car seats? Or Clek Foonf? Both brands are narrow enough you can fit 3 seats across in one row. So, you can drive any vehicle that you want.
If you're looking at dropping mad coin on a Sequoia or Yukon anyway, have a look at an Audi Q7. Way more enjoyable vehicle to drive, but still a proper full size ute. Plus you have the diesel option and the ability to enjoy 1200+ Km per tank.
It's a bit more, but worth looking investigating, at the very least

Make sure you get one with a rear DVD player. Apparently its the biggest saver of aggravation ever invented.
Most factory DVD systems are a 2000+ dollar option. Get your kids a couple Nexus tablets and some satchels to wrap them around the headrests. Most new cars have bluetooth audio support, so you can pair up the audio of the movies they're watching over the speakers. Or you can just go with headphones.
I can't say enough how bad/ugly/cumbersome I find most manufacturer DVD systems to be.

The Radians are narrow but they are crazy tall. I can't fit one rear facing in a Subaru Outback.
Britax Marathons fit no problem in RF for comparison's sake.
