I gotta wonder what Darryl Sutter things about the shiny/reflective/spangly bits in the stripes of the Kings jerseys.
That's some SOLID GOLD stuff they have going on there, and no good Viking boy likes spangly bits.

Hawks look like the quicker team again like last year.

That looks like textbook goaltender interference from me, though no call on the ice. How they reversed that is beyond me

It wasn't reviewable so one of the referees had to have intended to call the interference. The refs need to do a better job protecting goalies. Kreider is a prime example of a player chronically going feet first in to goalies and now Montreal could pay the price.

Totally agree, but I'm watching the nbc feed and could not see the ref do anything to indicate interference. He called it a goal on the ice. How can you then overturn it by review???

If the trailing referee determined Quick was interfered with, the goal could be disallowed after discussing with the lead referee. This would be an on ice decision.
At least that is my understanding. A penalty does not have to be called.

Great game, but I have to say these afternoon games really piss me off.

Not sure if that was intended or not, but a nice pun either way

Didn't have time to watch the game. What are some key things that occurred this game?

You can only see one ref on the NBC feed. The other one must have overturned it. Regardless, the right call was made.
Saad dives so much, he would be a good fit on the Canucks. He dove 4 times, by my count. No calls though, so the refs must know him.

Bollig also flopped like a Sedin after he snowed Quick. Somehow LA got the only penalty.

I was worried about Toews but he seems good now.If their top players stay healthy I can't see them losing to anyone and it's another cup.

Yeah, I would love to see this series go 7, and it might. I would love to see the Kings win, but I feel like they won't, again. The Blackhawks are too good at every facet of the game, and Crawford has had a strong postseason.

The Kings scored the same amount in game 1 as they did last year. Crawford rocks in goal for the Bhawks.

a sloppy 2nd period for my guys...again...no rational explanation, except that Q's compulsive line matching "on the fly", with the long change, has lead to some awful breakdowns in coverage, when the changes don't go smoothly...but it was a shut down 3rd, only allowing 4 SOG...

I like it. You could do the same thing with Quenneville and Crawford.
