I dont really care about this series at all and likely wont watch much of it. Very meh-ish matchup of 2 teams that may not have even made the playoffs in the west. This is really Price v Lundqvist with a whole lot of yawning in between.
Rangers making the Finals would be unfortunate. Ugly style of hockey and the MSG atmosphere is second rate compared to the Bell Centre. Habs-Hawks or the 93 rematch of Habs-Kings would be better. Habs should win in 6 or less but Henrik can absolutely steal this series.

The Habs have been an entertaining team so far this post season. People saying Price stole them the series against Boston clearly didn't watch any of it. I'd say Price was key in the last game, but Montreal was very successful at counter punching and building up leads that forced Boston off of their game plan. Boston played from behind in every game but one, which was a result of the Habs overall play, not just Price's goaltending. Not sure why so many are rooting for the Rangers in this one as they are a far less interesting team built out of a hodgepodge of entitled stars from yesteryear who all grasped or whined their way onto the team.

Yes both the teams are the underdogs, but it doesn't mean they are not good. For one it appears that the Pens were overrated and the Rnagers underrated, and two Montreal has been playing amazing.
As well, you have two of the best goalies in the league.
Should be fun too, you've got quick teams, another original six matchup, and two teams that really really want to prove something.
I could see it going seven and making for some entertaining games. I'll agree that the west will probably win it all, but I don't think either of these teams will be a pushover or don't deserve to be there. Not seeing why some say it's a 'weak' ECF.
Price 8-2 lifetime versus Lundqvist, 5 shutouts in 15 life starts vs Rangers. Lundqvist has not won in Montreal in 5 years.
Rangers 1 goal in last 5 games versus Habs.
A lot has to change from recent history for the Rangers to push this
On the one hand I like Price and Subban, as well as the extra hype of having a Canadian team this deep in the playoffs (don't confuse that with me wanting the Habs to win it all).
On the other hand I think it's hilarious that Vancouver bombed under Tortorella and the Rangers are in the ECF under Vigneault. I feel like the Torts/Vigneault dynamic has gone completely overlooked.
The better the Rangers do, the worse the Canucks look.

I'm not a habs fan usually, but they've played an exciting style of hockey through the playoffs. I can cheer for a Canadian team as long as its not Vancouver or Edmonton.
