I was going to use that example, but then realized that this could turn into a debate on fetishes and what could drive somebody into a rage, might drive another into the bed along with them

I figured your child being beaten by a stranger would be more of a universal psychotic-level rage inducer. Until of course you came along and challenged that assumption.

From the definition above only murder 1 is premeditated. Your child scenario would IMO involve beating someone with your fists or hitting someone and they hit the ground and died. I juat dont see how you can stab someone without intent to kill. Its a knife. Youre stabbing them. It will kill them in most circumstances.
