I think the Kerr play by play experiment is over. I could see Loubardias, Brad Curle, or Ryan Pinder becoming the play by play voice.

Man this one hurts. Peter Maher is the Flames! I just can't even imagine listening to a game and not hearing his voice.
Long car rides to and from hockey, listening to the games with my Dad is probably one of my strongest childhood memories, Just thinking of his voice I can remember places I've been listening to games from 15 years ago or more.

Sad day, definitely one of the best. It was time though. Peter was starting to be a bit like Bob Cole, where he was sometimes a bit behind on the play.

His will be missed by Flames fans. He had a unique style of broadcasting that set him apart from others. It's hard to envision anyone else doing the Flames PBP.
Looking ahead i'd love to see Brad Curle, who does the Hitmen games, get a shot as the Flames PBP guy.

I think if anyone deserves a "Forever a Flame" honour it is probably Mr. Maher. I hope he still drops by as a guest on the radio from time to time.
