Torts really is an ass-hat and the kind of personality that the NHL doesnt need.

I hope to god the Canucks keep that over rated piece of #### ass clown. Biggest drama queen ever to coach in the NHL by far. The stupid is strong in Torts.

It was mentioned in the Burke presser thread, but what Hartley was arguing about is why wasn't there a minor called on at least one of the three that jumped Byron and started to feed him shots. I guess torts took exception to Hartley campaigning for a penalty to be called while the stretcher was out there.

Really a silly thing for Torts to get bent out of shape on. What's our coach supposed to do, sit there with single tear running down his face while holding hands with the players and sending texts of well wishes to Torts and the Canucks management staff.
Or maybe he was supposed to campaign for more penalty minutes for Bryon.
I suppose I would have taken Torts more seriously if he didn't have a head hunter like Kassian on the ice going out of his way to injure people.

Does anyone know where this hatred stems from? It seems to go back way further then that big brawl earlier in the season.
Hilarious watching Torterella get upset, again. The question he was asked had nothing to do with Hartley and he eventually found a way to get pissed off about him. What a loon.

I thought I remember it being mentioned back when the line brawl happened, that these two had a beef with each other from their days coaching against one another in the AHL.

I love Hartley, I love Burke, and I still do love Feaster.
Feaster may have screwed the pooch on a trade or two, or a singular first round draft pick (at this stage, who wouldn't rather have Maatta + Sieloff than Jankowski + Sieloff?), but I think he deserves a lot of praise for not only taking us into this "new era", but doing it on the right foot and effectively rebuilding an entire prospect pool in 2 1/2 years (May 18th 2011 to December 28th 2013).
I can't help but laugh at Torts. If there were ever a coach being shown by the hockey world that your career is over - look no further than him. Brad Richards, heck, his entire team in New York effectively wouldn't play for him anymore, and he lost his gig in the Big Apple. Now, one year later? He took a team with high expectations and helped drive them into the bottom of the standings while making a mockery of his entire organization. There's no way Trevor Linden can move forward with Torts in place - not if he actually intends on addressing the numerous things wrong with that team.

I believe in the AHL, Torts went to Hartley's office during (or after) a game as well. Not sure what the circumstances around that was though - I would love to hear it myself.

I thought it was Hartley going to Torts office? Can't remember the exact story, hoping someone can shed light on what actually happened.

That Burke presser was outstanding.
Fonzi is such a chump saying he wanted to get to Hartley. To then what be a chump, be a bigger poser than he already is.

I liked Hartley's response when asked about it today: "We have no one of this name on this team... Today, I will focus solely on my team."

Wow! He really emphasizes that he loves his players and how loyal they were to the coaching staff and organization. I love this guy! And I see good things for this team in the future. Let's hope they keep this healthy nucleus together.
