If the Flames don't win the lottery, they should trade 1st rounders from 2014, 2015, 2016 for the first overall and draft Ritchie with it

I'd have no problem with Reinhart or Bennett with the fourth pick, Bennett needing more seasoning in the OHL shouldn't be an issue at all, as we don't really need our draft pick next year anyway.

I would probably take Ekblad first overall though, especially if next years draft if forward heavy (where we'll be likely picking). If it's possible Take the defenseman now, and then a forward next year. We also really need to add some defensive depth in our prospect pool, as we are severely lacking in that position.

The Flames have the most stacked LW prospects in the league. That's my only problem with taking Dal Colle at 4.

I'd far prefer Draisaitl since he's the truest centre in the top 5 besides Reinhart.

I'm really just going to hope Bennett falls or we move up somehow.

I just can't believe the draft luck worked out in our favour. I'm truly shocked.

Honestly, if Burke truly doesn't like Drasaitl like he implied, wouldn't he have elaborated just a little bit at least? I mean what are the serious knocks on the guy he knows about that are so harsh that scouting reports are neglecting to see?

I call BS. It just seems a little fishy that he didn't give a hint as to what he doesn't like in him.

Dal Colle is playing with Cassels and not Laughton at the moment. Laughton will graduate this year. Some speculation going on as to whether or not Dal Colle moves back to center, or continues playing with Cassels next season. He still might be a center.

How many OOT scoreboards have gone our way? Gotta be at least 4-5

If I were to guess, it would have to be his compete level. Reinhart competes very hard. Ekblad has a very high compete level. Bennett never stops competing and playing hard. Draisaitl's knock is more around inconsistency at times. Just my guess on it.

Can't wait for the draft lottery. Despite finishing 27th this had been the most enjoyable season for me in 2-3 years by far. Cant wait to see what our prospects can do next year.

If only Drasaitl played for the Oil Kings he would be a lock to go to the Oilers.

Yeah, that's the consistent knock, but reports still have him top 5-7.

I dunno, Burke's a bit of a funny cat...he could be just truly not interested, but he's usually not shy to point out a players weakness and strengths. Just seemed odd that he didn't even want to comment on him.

Anyway, I guess we'll find out more I'm sure.

Perhaps it just a matter of Draisaitl's English teacher forgetting to teach him how to spell intense.

I'm sure this has been explained in the depths of other more prospect/draft focused threads, but what position does Bennett play? LW, no?

Reinhart - C; Ekblad - D; Bennett - LW (?); Draisaitl - C; Dal Colle - LW (C ?).

Bennett plays LW/C. In Kingston he has been used primarily as C this season.

I've seen LW and C, but most often he's listed as a C.

http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?id=49649

Reinhart - C
Bennett / Dal Colle - LW/C
Draisaitl - LW

Bennett is a primary C that can be moved to LW
