I think Flames fans should try to drown out the Jets "true north" chant with a "C of Red" during the Anthem. It might be disrespectful, but Jets fans are terrible people and Winnipeg is no good. I'm sure Heather Liscano will understand.
One major issue with this?
They won't be playing the American anthem tonight. So no "Sea", "Red"
We've done the "C" and "RED" thing a few times at games in the states. Sometimes people laugh. Sometimes people ignore you.
Sometimes people give you REALLY dirty looks.
It's just a song people. It's not like we booed your troops... when you salute them... every single freaking game (so weird).
Americans are way too patriotic. I got yelled at by some guy for walking in the concourse during the anthem at a baseball game for "disrespecting my country". Needless to say, when the anthem stopped I turned around and ripped the guy a new one.
Islanders are already two behind and we win the tiebreaker, we need to lose both for a shot at it.
One has to think we lose against Vancouver as it seems we only beat those dbags once every eleventy billion tries, and that the Isles will walk all over the Sabres who have been mailing it in all season. Or at least it's a pretty solid bet both those things happen.
Which makes tonight's game all the more important. If we can lose a hard fought battle against the Jets and the Isles can take the Devils to OT I like our chances.
Granted that's a lot of if's. But it's not out of the realm of possibility.
Was going to go to Flames Central to watch the game tonight. Does anyone know what this union electronic concert is and if they will still be showing the game?
I tell ya, the buzz in this city for a team that will be drafting 5th overall is pretty amazing. People are really into the Flames right now. Great to see.
