The Flames can still pass the Jets if they don't get another point tonight. C'mon Jets. At least they're competing, rather than mailing it in like Carolina.

The Jets need 1 more point.

We could still tie them in points, and we'd end up with either more ROW (we're tied currently), or else the 2nd tiebreaker is points earned head-to-head.

In order to tie them, we'd have to beat them in regulation tomorrow giving us the advantage in both tiebreakers anyways.

Iggy just about stripped Jokinen for a breakaway.

Olli takes a penalty with 40 seconds left.

Edit: Jets heading to a shootout.

Ferraro has been talking with people in organizations that have been more successful than the Oilers in the last little while. Does he really have connections with all 29 other teams?

Jets up 1-0 after shootout round 1 thanks to Little.
Jets up 1-0 after shootout round 2.
Jets win!

The Flames cannot pass Winnipeg now.

Thank the hockey gods for that! Now we can focus on worrying about the pathetic Canes.

Carolina likely doesn't win another game this season. And losing to the Peg would be slightly more bearable than to the no good stinkin' Canucks.

If Carolina picks up 2 more points in their final 2 games, we can't pass them.

We could tie them for 81 points, but they have 5 more ROW currently.

Pretty sure Sam Gagner's spirit just broke. Headed to the locker room.

Thank god the Jets won. Carolina on the other hand is useless. I feel a little better about cheering loud and hard for the boys tomorrow though. Canes better get their act together..

I'd rather win the final home game of the year. The Canucks game is immaterial, and I likely won't even waste the time watching it.
