Well there is one more Flames fan as of tonight, unfortunately tht didn't help the attendance in Sunrise tonight. My brother amd his wife had their second son tonight. Should I teach him to say ha ha stupid Oilers, or Edmonton is no good?

man, it is so hard to tank in this league

On another note, easily the most empty NHL building i have ever seen.

Sad the BJs lost tonight, a win and the leafs would be in the hot seat tomorrow night.

With Gillies staying in college, might JoeyMac earn himself another contract from the flames?

The new flames fan is doing quite well and has a very healthy appetite so far. He's already heckling Mike Gillis and laughing at Kevin Lowe.

Yea I was at the game and same thing, picked up tickets in the fourth row by the away bench for $25 a piece. The beer almost cost as much as the seats at $14 each.

Doesn't he have 1 more year on his current deal?

Edit: No he does not.

not a chance...one decent game won't earn him a contract, he is only with the Flames now out of necessity

Seriously, tonight's roster was the equivalent of a $35 million cap team.

With the flames most likely not, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a backup deal somewhere this off-season

There will be a need for at least 1 more pro goaltender (in addition to Ramo, Ortio and Roy-assuming all are back). Ideally one who can go back and forth between the AHL and NHL. This is why I see Macdonald as a fit. Not really a huge fan of his.

Well now that Berra is gone we'll need at least one more goaltender just to fill a hole, most likely going back and forth between the NHL and AHL as Ortio surely gets a few callups, but doesn't stay up full time so that he is playing consistently. Wouldn't be upset if JoeyMac gets a 1 or 2 year deal in that capacity, you know he's not going to be absolutely lights out but he's always ready to go do his job. Realistically whoever it is likely plays 10-15-ish NHL games at the most anyway unless there's some injuries

Does he want to be the guy that goes down to the A at times though? Doubtful. More realistically they nab a younger free agent who isn't likely to take that starter spot, but is hungry enough to fight for it. Someone like Nilstorp, Hutton, Montoya, or Griess. There's a lot of options.
